Just messing around with Storm. Using attraction and a tiny bit of stick on the collision model makes the water roll over the surface rather than mostly splashing off of it.

New AutoHotKey / VoiceAttack script I made to perhaps help you record your motion capture sessions. This video shows you how to set everything up.

The new Lightwave3D forum is down for the moment (and I think it's my fault!). So in the meantime, you can download the script from here:

This is the thing I made in my last tutorial. I rendered it out; just for fun.

Tutorial for getting a rocket to kick up water foam from the surface of a body of water.

In the shadow (or light?) of Lightwave 2023's release, I tinker with emulating TurbulenceFD in Lightwave 2020.

I was just informed by Leonard that Storm can also convert a fog volumes to a mesh, and likely does it faster than LW2020.

Storm Granular Solver tutorial. Special thanks to Leonard for showing me this stuff!
Note: Altering the falloff value during a sim does not give real-time feedback. You need to hit reset and sim again to see the value change take effect.

Make a cool Sequins Rendering Effect with Lightwave and your favorite compositor.

In this "Enhanced" reupload, the beginning and ending are changed. The rest is pretty much untouched. Enjoy!

Lightwave 2020 Rigging Tutorial

For some reason, the original video stopped playing (for me). So I have re-uploaded it.

Tutorial for Storm Granular Solver: Calculate Velocity to correct scaled elements

This is not a miracle trick; it's quite cumbersome. But it does allow squeezing out more than three outputs from a curve node, which is advantageous. Watch and decide if it will benefit you. Cheers.

Turns out the method I used in part one does not work so well for legs. So here is a different approach. It uses one less controller to animate and can work for legs or arms. Cool, huh!

NOTE: When I added UpperLegUnwind, I verbalized "Bank (first) for him" but I chose Pitch first. That should have been bank first. Fortunately it still worked well enough.

I go over how I rig an arm that uses the IK/FK Switching feature along with some extra tips and tricks.

Messing with a Radial Force and Noise Force in Storm.

A real-time feedback method of creating joint deformation morphs in Lightwave 2018 or higher using the commercial plugin Cage Deformer by 3rdPowers

After watching the video, you may be able to create a similar workflow without having to use Cage Deformer, but I leave that to you. Enjoy!

A trickery-cheatery way to get smoother SSS with smaller rendering time.

Version 2. I re-animated the camera because the fast movement was not compressing well on the internet. Also I was not using enough recursions, which was causing a lot of black to appear in the water. So this one looks much better.

The Deformation Node

Re-recorded with a bit more pleasing results.

I show how to bring a Lightwave-animated camera into Storm. It probably works the same for other platforms.

Learn how to poke a hole in your Storm particle soft bodies...and a few other things.

I don't know why, but the original upload stopped playing (for me).. So here it is again. I will likely completely redo this tutorial after I learn some more things about Storm Nodes.

Just messing with Storm. I learned that you need very high amounts of friction in your collision object when working with highly viscous liquids.

It is better. And newer. And better.
