French TV - Nov. 1966
Wrapping Paper was their first 45 rpm single, definitely going for a pop radio-type hit. But stay tuned, lol. Sweet Wine has a really good guitar solo from Eric.

Winterland - S.F. Calif. Mar. 10th 1968
If you were a guitar player this was the guitar solo you HAD to learn back in the day. It was a 'Rite of Passage.'

** The video is from the Royal Albert Hall, Dec. '68

The real Journey. When they played this at Winterland in 1976 I had an 'Out Of Body' experience when Neal played that wah-wah bit that comes in at 4:53.

Exhibit "A" yer honor... the evidence. Minkia! they were great!

Winterland S.F. Calif. May 26th 1974 - Twenty year old Neal Schon on guitar. This is the real Journey (pre-Steve Perry) when they were the best fucking rock band in the world. I saw them three times in '76 - '77. Oh my my, they could bring it! Still a five-piece at this early point with George Ticknor on rhythm guitar.

Live at the Grande Ballroom - Detroit, Michigan Oct. 15th 1967.

Jack Bruce recalls this as the best gig they ever played. They're kicking some serious ass, lol. I don't usually post "bootlegs" but this is a really good sounding tape. If you've ever seen any pics of bands at that venue, it was a hot sweaty intimate place to play.

Live at Klooks Kleek, London Nov. 15th 1966. Young Eric rippin' it up.

(1980) Victims of the Fury

(1972) The great Jesse Ed Davis on guitar.

From The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus TV special. Recorded before a live audience in London, December 1968.

Taj Mahal - vocals
Jesse Ed Davis - guitar
Gary Gilmore - bass
Chuck Blackwell - drums

Taj's band were all from Oklahoma.
*I think that might be Mitch Mitchell's drum kit that Brother Chuck is playing.*

(1975) One Size Fits All

Tiny is one of the grandfathers of Rock guitar. The string bending, the distortion, the volume swells, etc. He was doing a lot of things other guitar players were not doing at that early date.

Danny Cedrone on guitar. Recorded on April 12, 1954. It didn't become a radio hit until it was included on the soundtrack of the movie "Blackboard Jungle" (released in the spring of 1955). This, along with Elvis and Chuck Berry (and many others) ushered in the early Rock & Roll era. It still sounds good.

This was 'insanely futuristic' for 1954. If you consider that Danny Cedrone with Bill Haley and the Comets was going to do his ground-breaking solo in Rock Around The Clock a year later, (1955). You can go back to Tiny Grimes and Lester "Jr." Barnard (and others) as the grandfathers of Rock Guitar but this is pointing the way forward. Ahead of it's time, for sure.

(1967) Backed by the psych band Kaleidescope. I really, really, REALLY like this song.

Jazz From Hell

If you like the vid's I post consider subscribing. I like guitar music, if it's got a guitar I can find something to like about it. Originally wanted this to be a 100% guitar only channel, probably not going to be able to stick to that. The main focus will be 90% to 95% guitar-oriented. And of course there will be some weird surprises.
I post video's here from all over, mostly that hellhole YT place, lol, but also other sites as well. I just try to save them from corporate purgatory. Altho' I'm sure Bitch Ute will go bad at some point also. If it hasn't already.

Thank you for the comments - at least the sane comments, I'll always respond to those (if I see them). Unfortunately it seems like there's always a few that are deranged and semi-coherent - from people with other agendas (which I tend to ignore).

Anyway, hope you like the music.

NOTE: May 29th 2022 - Just wanted to say *Thank You* to everyone who subscribes to this channel. Thank you!

NOTE: Apr. 21st 2022 - Couldn't figure out why some ppl. down vote certain songs. I realized it's probably because a song gets picked out to be used on some "modern" TV movie on the Obama / Jarrett network (Netflix) or some other Hollywood bullshit. These down-voters have got the song associated with the modern piece of shit movie / video game or TV series, lol. Too funny. It's only an indication that any good music has NOT been made in decades, so Hollywood has to go back to the "old" stuff to use in the modern bullshit TV series / video games and movies to help sell their shit product. - Enjoy the songs for what they are, (and were) - Please try to ignore the *modern garbage* that these great old classic songs have unfortunately been attached to and VAMPIRE'D by Hymiewood.

NOTE: Oct. 19th 2021 - went over 100,000 views. Pretty good for a guy just posting songs he likes. I ain't selling anything or any crap like that. It's about the music only. Thanks !
