Just a quick tip for you since it's kind of #rainy lately.
The problem with rain suits & Harleys is the leg usually flaps against the pipes. Then melts a hole. Then the wind catches and rips them apart.
I usually use a strap but I wanted to attach the elastic leg strap to my motorcycle rain suit so I don't loose it.
I didn't want to puncture the material by sewing, so I thought I would try fabric #glue . It worked great. I really doubted gluing elastic to PU coated polyester would work, but it did.
I applied a liberal amount of the glue to both the elastic and coated polyester. When it got tacky, I pressed and held them together for a few minutes, then clamped them together between two pieced of wood in a vice overnight.
The strap holds tight even with pulling it to tighten the strap.
To store in the saddlebag, I roll it up tightly and the strap doubles to hold the bundled rain suit. Glue has been holding up even with the strap stretched to the limit to hold it bundled.
I hope this helps someone out. It's an easy fix to a problem I've always had with rain suits.
