When there is a 5th weekend in a month we try to run a pistol match from concealment. It's great fun and more closely duplicates the type of shooting you might have to use to defend yourself in a real world environment.
There are two pieces of surplus USGI MOLLE gear that are cheap and multipurpose. They will be useful if you are just getting into LARPing gear or have a ton of it.
