A man is in custody after dangerously driving through suburban Brampton, striking trees and other cars, in an attempt to escape police.

A viral video of the incident is making the rounds as well, and Peel Regional Police stress they are well aware of the driver. Another driver witnessed the incident at a suburban community on Chinguacousy Rd and filmed the attempted escape.

The video cuts in with the Jeep already on the lawn of a home on the corner. A police officer is standing by the Jeep as it tries to back out of the yard.

The Jeep then quickly pull forward crashing into a tree in the yard and pushing it down. The Jeep then backs up again, almost running down an officer standing behind who dodges out of the way.

While still reversing the Jeep hits a traffic light pole and tries to drive away. Then the Jeep tries to flee away from Chinguacousy Rd striking multiple cars as it does so.

Reports indicate it took ten police cruisers to stop the Jeep, the driver of which was arrested on the scene. They have been charged with unspecified impaired driving offences, police confirmed.

No one was reported injured in the incident.

A wellness check for a 22-year-old woman in New York City reportedly led to a grisly discovery: blood, human remains and body parts stuffed into suitcases, police said.

The New York City Police Department was called to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Linwood Street in East New York around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to conduct the check.

When officers arrived to the woman’s sixth-floor apartment, they found two suitcases containing human remains, police said.

However, it’s not clear if the victim’s entire body was accounted for. It’s also not clear if the remains belong to the woman subject of the wellness check.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

The NYPD said early Thursday the investigation is ongoing.

A man was arrested Tuesday night after attacking a projector at a Turning Point USA “Meme Wars” event, according to Benny Johnson’s account of the events on social media.

Johnson, a former Daily Caller employee, was hosting an event at the University of Iowa about memes when he displayed one of Vice President Kamala Harris. The meme showed Harris exiting her home saying “oh my God I love it!” as a mariachi singer danced in front of the bus and mariachi music played in the background, seemingly in a nod to the migrants that were bused to the Vice President’s home by Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott earlier in September.

The original, non-meme video showed Harris’ excitement when she saw her campaign bus during the 2020 presidential election.

The meme seemed to strike a nerve for one man, who walked from the back of the room and kicked in the projector before cursing.

"Let's demonstrate our collective power to take on challenges that matter most in people's lives and deliver progress. We have so much - so much to do, so let's get to work. And thank you all for all you're doing," he further said.

But as the President turned right to leave the podium, he stopped for a second, wondering if he has to get down from here. The host then read out a thank you note which attracted the attention of the 79-year-old.

A white bus driver in Morgan County, Georgia, has lost his job after a video showed him shoving a pair of young Black siblings.

The incident went down on Sept. 9 and stemmed from the bus driver — James O’Neil — instructing a 6-year-old boy to sit at the back of the bus.

According to the Morgan County Citizen, this went against the regular practice of younger children sitting toward the front of the bus, as high school students sat toward the back.

After the 6-year-old objected, the bus driver proceeded to shove him, according to another student’s video footage.

In response, the boy’s 10-year-old sister objected by yelling, “Stop pushing my brother!”

O’Neil responded by telling her to “shut [her] mouth,” and he proceeded to then aggressively push the 10-year-old while saying, “What a pain in the neck you guys are. Get back there.”

Following an investigation, O’Neil was ultimately arrested this past Friday.

“The investigation resulted in the arrest of James O’Neil on two counts of simple battery,” Morgan County Chief Deputy Keith Howard said, the Morgan County Citizen reports. “While this was not a complex investigation, it was complicated by the allegation that the incident was perceived as being racially motivated.”

However, authorities ultimately determined that they couldn’t prove that the conflict was racially motivated, though O’Neil will nonetheless get his date in court to face battery charges.

Toronto- David Hove had been selling scones and lemonade at his sidewalk stand for hours and needed a bathroom break. When he left his station for few minutes to relieve himself, an adult man pulled up, got out of his car and swiped the entire stand.

When Hove returned, he was shocked to see that his cooler, folding table and supplies had vanished. The only piece of his business that remained was a handwritten sign that read: “Homemade Lemon Cranberry Scones.”

Thankfully, Hove was smart enough to take his money box with him when he left his post.

After the theft, Hove’s father began reaching out to neighbors to try to identify the mystery thief, but his mission was short-lived. Nobody saw the theft take place or had any leads to share.

So, instead of calling the police, Hove's father released surveillance footage of the sidewalk crime to local news stations in hopes of identifying the perpetrator.

So far, they are still on the hunt. However, the family has received hundreds of encouraging messages from strangers and support from neighbors.

The lemonade and scone stand was a joint business venture between the pre-teen and his 15-year-old sister, Kimberly.

Hove was responsible for manning the baked goods, handling customer service and balancing their revenue, while his sister was head of recipe development and baking.

Together they hoped to earn enough money so that Hove could purchase an Xbox, while his sister wanted a new cellphone.

A teenage human trafficking victim initially charged with first-degree murder after stabbing her accused rapist to death was sentenced Tuesday in an Iowa court to five years of closely supervised probation and ordered to pay $150,000 restitution to the man's family.

A GoFundMe page set up for the teen has raised more than the full amount of restitution she owes.

Pieper Lewis, 17, was sentenced Tuesday after she pleaded last year to involuntary manslaughter and willful injury in the June 2020 killing of 37-year-old Zachary Brooks of Des Moines. Both charges were punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Polk County District Judge David M. Porter on Tuesday deferred those prison sentences, meaning that if Lewis violates any portion of her probation, she could be sent to prison to serve that 20-year term.

As for being required to pay the estate of her rapist, "This court is presented with no other option," Porter said, noting the restitution is mandatory under Iowa law that has been upheld by the Iowa Supreme Court.

As of Wednesday morning, the GoFundMe set up to help Lewis pay the restitution she owes to Brooks' family had raised over $168,000. The highest single donation came in the amount of $5,000 from an anonymous donor.

Lewis was 15 when she stabbed Brooks more than 30 times in a Des Moines apartment. Officials have said Lewis was a runaway who was seeking to escape an abusive life with her adopted mother and was sleeping in the hallways of a Des Moines apartment building when a 28-year-old man took her in before forcibly trafficking her to other men for sex.

Lewis said one of those men was Brooks and that he had raped her multiple times in the weeks before his death. She recounted being forced at knifepoint by the 28-year-old man to go with Brooks to his apartment for sex.

A Lebanese woman held up a Beirut bank on Wednesday and reportedly walked out with thousands of dollars to fund what she said was hospital treatment for her ill sister. The move and another heist Wednesday come as Lebanese depositors — whose savings have been devalued and trapped in banks for almost three years amid an economic collapse — take matters into their own hands. Sali Hafiz streamed a live video of her raid on a Beirut branch of Blom Bank, in which she could be heard yelling at employees to release a sum of money while entrances to the bank were sealed.

Seattle police are searching for a man who reportedly cornered a woman on an elevator in May and began punching and kicking her in the head in a brutal caught-on-video attack.

The assault happened just before 10 p.m. when an unidentified man followed a woman into the lobby of an apartment building in the city's Central District and jumped inside an elevator with her, Seattle police said.

Police released video on Wednesday that shows the victim approaching the lobby elevator with what appears to be a take-out bag. The lobby door closes behind her as enters the elevator.

The suspect can then be seen pulling violently on the closed lobby door, which appears locked. He eventually rips the door open and charges into the elevator just as the door begins to slide closed.

The video shows the suspect attack the woman, punching her in the head until she falls to the ground. He is then seen kneeing her in the head and kicking her while continuing to pummel her with his fists.

After the assault, the man walks out of the elevator and leaves the building. The victim can be seen rising to her feet in the elevator.

The woman sustained significant injuries in the assault, including broken bones in her face and a concussion, police said.

Investigators described the suspect as a White male between 5-feet, 6-inches and 5-feet, 10-inches tall, with a short light-colored buzz cut. He appears to walk with a hunched posture.

Authorities asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Seattle Police Department’s violent crimes tip line at (206) 233-5000
