hoi Arno !

How much can world champion Magnus Carlsen calculate in 60 seconds ?
We see the blitz game Indjic vs Carlsen, with music.
Commentary by Sagar Shah of YT channel "ChessBaseIndia".

It's said that blitz chess is all about intuition and feel. After all how much can one calculate in just 3 minutes! The 2-second increment often helps you to stay afloat and not lose on time. But the World Champion is not like us, is he?

When Magnus Carlsen puts in 1/3 of his time during a blitz game, which is a solid 60 seconds, what is it that he has thought in that time? How many variations could he calculate? In round 3 of the World Blitz 2021, the World Champion took on the Serbian GM Alesandar Indjic. Carlsen had 1 minute 35 seconds on the clock and thought for a solid 1 minute to come down to 35 seconds only! In this video, you get to see a glimpse of the genius of Magnus. The commentary of IM Sagar Shah helps you to get some ideas about what Carlsen was thinking.

Controversial documentary about alternative energy & efficient oil use. You'll also find this is from 2010 .. i don't know but this film triggers me. Is it all true ?

‚ÄúGasHole‚ÄĚ is a documentary film about the history of Oil prices and the future of alternative fuels. The film takes a wide, yet detailed examination of our dependence on foreign supplies of Oil. What are the causes that led from America turning from a leading exporter of oil to the world‚Äôs largest importer? What are the economic and sociological forces that have contributed to that change and impede its solution? The film examines many different potential solutions to our oil dependence. Starting with claims of buried technology that dramatically improves gas mileage, to navigating bureaucratic governmental roadblocks, to evaluating different alternative fuels that are technologically available now, to questioning the American Consumer‚Äôs reluctance to embrace alternatives.

Four games against the chess engine Teki v2, with animation and music.

Teki uses an MCTS algorithm, but this technique seems badly implemented - it's laughable .. however, the non-MCTS version of Teki v2 has an ELO rating of 2340.

The first game is against Weiawaga, another engine with rating around 2500, Teki plays the Black pieces. The other three games were played by me, the view is from my side.

In computer science, Monte Carlo tree search (MCTS) is a heuristic search algorithm for some kinds of decision processes, most notably those employed in software that plays board games. In that context MCTS is used to solve the game tree.
MCTS was combined with neural networks in 2016 for computer Go.[1] It has been used in other board games like chess and shogi,[2] games with incomplete information such as bridge[3] and poker,[4] as well as in turn-based-strategy video games (such as Total War: Rome II's implementation in the high level campaign AI). MCTS has also been used in self-driving cars, for example in Tesla's Autopilot software.
