Anna-Varneys lyrics are often hard to understand becuase to her the music is self-therapy, so the lyrics reflect a universe that the outside world has no access to.

So, together with bands like "My Dying Bride", "Paradise Lost" started what was called "Doom Death Metal" back in the early 90s. A very slow paced, gloomy, ominous kind of music. PL later changed their style significantly, incorporating more Goth Rock influences into their music. They became more and more streamlined for a while, opening up for Electro Pop elements. For a while they even sounded a bit like Depeche Mode. Meanwhile they returned to a much, much heavier music again - albeit a lot more polished and modern of course.
They released their debut album "Lost Paradise" in 1990. The "Doom Dub" version of this song was released on the MCD "Gothic" in 1994. I took that version and gave it a bit of my own twist. Hope some of you enjoy!

Another track from the 1984 Eurythmics album "1984 - For The Love Of Big Brother", music score for the 1984 remake of the movie "1984", an adaptation of George Orwells famous novel about a totalitarian surveillance state in a dystopian future.
I love that song. It's that simple. One of the best songs in the entire Eurythmics back catalogue - imho.
And I adore Suzanna Hamilton in that movie, both as an actress and as the ravishing beauty she is. Her face radiates intelligence and fragility, but at the same time her smile indicates a somewhat enigmatic and mysterious profoundness. Which makes her a perfect choice for the role of Julia, since it never becomes quite clear who Julia really is. That's my take on her character in the movie, so it's highly subjective.
SPOILER ALERT
In the movie (as well as in the novel, of course) people live in a horrible system in which no-one is free, not even in speech or thought. In which there is nothing to your life but Big Brother - the Party - and the "love" and dedication to it. In which truth is a lie one day and vice versa the other, and your perception is what Big Brother makes of it. In which 2 +2 sometimes equals 4, sometimes 5, sometimes none of the above. In which you are deprived of your speech, sanity and common sense only to be fully dependent on what Big Brother tells you to believe. In which your mind is torn apart by being exposed to force fed daily contradictions. In which reality is made only to be destroyed and re-made. On a daily basis. Until you succumb.
Hence the famous line "“Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two makes four. If that is granted, all else follows.”
In that terrifying, mind and soul destructive environment Winston and Julia find a safe spot for themselves where they enjoy important aspects of human nature, among them being trust, love, intimacy, exchange of thoughts and peace of mind. Until that refuge also is compromised. That's what the footage shows.

Some songs can weep. This is one of them.
The band "The Beauty Of Gemina", founded in 2006 by frontman Michael Sele, completely slipped my attention until I recently saw a YT vid of the M'era Luna 2022 where TBOG performed live. And I was blown away. Rarely happens, so I'm even more thankful for this coincidence.
They are somewhere between Gothic/Dark Wave, a dark form of Indie Rock, but also almost Singer/Songwriter-ish sometimes. The singer Michael Sele reminds me strongly of David Bowie when he used his lower registers. Simply amazing.
The band released 10 albums already, including an acoustic full album and an acoustic EP as well as two live albums and one Best Of.

A band that is often said to be the follow-up band of the legendary Celtic Frost who disband in 2008, Triptykon usually make their own blend of Doom-Death-Metal (sort of). Thomas Gabriel Fischer always is hard to label when it comes to musical style.

A wonderful ballad by Anna Varney, taken from the Album "Dead Lovers' Sarabande (Face One)", released in 1999.
Face Two of this work completes the concept that tells of the death of a loved one, seen through Anna-Varney's eyes.
I felt the need to upload another Sopor video for more reasons than only the music this time. Anna Varney Cantodea, besides being a musician and activist for animal rights, is a trans woman and sort of an LGBTQIA+ icon in the goth scene.
You probably have noticed the rainbow flag in the lower right corner of the vid. Why I added it as a hetero cis guy you might ask yourself.
Over the last few days I saw so much cynical hate and contempt against all kinds of LGBTQIA+ related people on Twitter. Now you might think that Twitter is the toilet of the internet anyway, so I shouldn't be surprised. Even though I don't hold Twitter to high standards anyway - what I saw over the last few days took the cake. Easily.
The cherry on top of the shit cake: The German newspaper "Welt" (one of the putrid, pus-filled print products of the infamous und utterly revolting "Axel Springer Verlag", a HORRIBLE German publishing house that also releases abysmal tabloid crap like the equalliy revolting "Bild Zeitung") released a downright ultra-right wing hate article against anything LGBTQIA+ in "Welt" which was the straw that broke the camels' back - with me being the camel.
I got wind of that pamphlet through a YT video by The German Youtuber "Der Dunkle Parabelritter", who tears this piece of junk to shreds:

And, this goes straight to the "Axel Springer Verlag": You're a case for the Deutsche Presserat (German Press Council) at least, if not even for the prosecutor. Your pamphlets have NOTHING to do with journalism. This is mass instigation imho.

"Der kleine Vampir" ("The Little Vampire"), the 1985 German-Canadian co-production that I introduced on this channel a while ago, has a great main theme. Problem is, as it often is in TV shows, that it's way too short (like 30 secs or so). I wanted to turn it into a decent full-length song.
So I merged the main theme, both the original and the instrumental (at the end of each episode) together into one song with a decent length. Additionally I added a few samples that work REALLY well. Gives me the trashy 80s "horror" feeling.

Today I listened to the good old "Aphex Twin" album "Classics", and it literally hit me during the first few seconds of "Flaphead": "Blue Monday"!
Now I already have a "Blue Monday" re-edit on this channel, so I decided to join the "Blue Monday" B-Side "The Beach" (which is already an instrumental remix of this song) and the original and put Aphex Twin's incredible Flaphead ping pong ball beat under it. And it kicks like a mule.
If you wanna get your brain fried, turn up the volume and stare at the footage which is a metronome at 130 bpm - the challenge is to sit still during the entire video. I couldn't do that. One of my feet was always tapping along. That's how it should be.

It's a traditional called "Go Down Moses", of course completely re-arranged and with different lyrics, as Diamanda Galas mainly dealt with the AIDS epidemic and its consequences for the Persons With AIDS on a social, psychological and physical level.

Nine Inch Nail's second album "The Downward Spiral" - a classic and must have for everyone interested in Electro/Industrial/Metal. Trent Reznor's (?) self loathing and his, let's say, way of coping with it is nicely depicted in this song.

A song from their debut EP "Broken", released in 1992, probably one of my favourite NIN songs ever. I merged the original version with the remix on the 1993 EP "Fixed" and added some nice samples to make it even noisier. Lyrics are included. It's nerve-wrecking, and I love it.
Somehow back then NIN were at their peak, when their sound was still more (self) destructive and aggressive. Trent Reznor is still a musical genius of course, but NIN have become a tad too artsy for my taste. But that's just my opinion.
The footage is proof that even the dumbest Youtube trash like these fake "father giving his nerd/gamer son who can't get away from his PC hell" can actually be funny, when sped up and dubbed with decent music.

I always appreciate a thumbs up if you enjoyed the vid. Not for the money. I like appreciation and show it when I like other people's work. Being shown appreciation boosts my morale and gives me the energy to go on. I do not earn money, I will not monetize ever. I enjoy what I do. I'm here because YouTube shadowbanned me (that's my guess at least) - for using BitChute as a mirror. Just to clarify a few things: BitChute seems to have a bit of a rough reputation, hosting a considerable amount of right and left wing extremists, conspiracy theorists, fake news spreader and what not. I don't know if any of that is actually true, and frankly I don't care.
I'm neither left nor right, I dislike extremists, I don't believe in conspiracy theories at all, but I also reject censorship, be it YouTube's way of treating their content creators and their efforts or any other censorship. In all honesty, YouTube's censorship in all its repulsive arbitrariness is not far away from how fascists would act. It's just that YouTube's fascism is hardcore capitalist. But be it as it may, I cannot change it.
After all I'm neither willing nor able to change my content to suit Youtube's preferences. There's a huge part of myself, my ideas of aesthetics, my mood(s), my impulses, my thoughts and associations in most of my videos. Self expression is important to me. Without that, content creation makes no sense to me and I'd rather stop.
