It feels like the art style in this episode is completely different to the rest. Like, it looks very, very similar to Ao no 6-Gou.
Also yeah in retrospect: a coward as helmsman, a creepy doctor and a mechanic kid as fighter...yes they kidnapped the perfect males to help them out! I find it to be great setup for long term character development and that happens to be one of the strongest aspects of this show.

Talking about our simple plot first of all we have a bit less of a harem going on.
The character development is quite superb in such a short series, during few of these years what I've seen from newly produced anime didn't really sucked me in for the characters, but I liked them a lot in this anime, they were interesting, had their own problems, and I think that each one of us could address each one of them in our own way of life. Also the MAJOR factor that got my attention to be interested in the characters was that the life of them, the chat, the problems with the girl and boy life is all plausible and it was interesting to listen to it.

It was just great, I typically don't give such anime a re-watch, cause there's no point on chaining myself to these characters, but maybe someday I will see it again... I highly recommend it.
It's been 18 years, since the last time I saw this anime on TV. I've always wanted to watch it whole again.

Interesting plot, man vs. women in the distant future.
Dita is the only waifu I remember so clearly. I think I had a crush on her back then. lol

Man this series has real trouble with endings, this ending makes little sense either. Besides the crazy stunt to introduce a new enemy in the last episode, it builds up a lot of things that yielded nothing. Like the project R destroyers, or the two admirals' plotting, all for naught. Azalyn can't decide whether to go to war, blowing up Soyokaze, all come out of nowhere and out of character.

Actually I half hardheartedly thought the new threat is manufactured by the two admirals using the new destroyers, in cahoot with the Raalgon Prime Minister, yeah that would actually makes some sense instead of this mess.

But other then that that's all for Tylor, it was a decent show even if it took me so long to finish it. In my defence, I didn't actually believe that was the ending and spent some time really doing some digging about it to be sure, but yeah that's it. Not going to cover the reboot it's really unimaginably bad and not worth watching.

For next time I have something else lined up already, a bit of a small gem of good production quality.

It feels a bit weird to see him get some real love only at the end, I always though he would have been a good character to focus more on with this show, but oh well, I guess you can't always get what you want.

First episode we see Tylor from this OVA since the start of it, and he is his irresponsible self as always.
Well can't blame him as most of that was caused by one kid, what a cockblock.
Awesome of Yuriko to wait for him with a smile, I guess she is now used to him being the irresponsible guy, Tylor you better realise what kind of luck you have to have someone like Yuriko on your side.
It was quite a cute story. Nothing special plot-wise, as it's a typical Christmas story like something out of a low-budget American movie, but it was still very enjoyable.

This one starts off as two episodes mixed together, so it pretty much feels like watching a movie.
The highlights for me, was the interrogation scenes and the singing at the end. Good jokes there that just make you go along for the ride.
The OVAs for this show have the feeling of just being deleted scenes that they made into episodes, so don't expect much of a continuity with them, just enjoy it as it goes and don't think too hard about it. At least for me that's how I get enjoyment from it, if nothing else.

Great ending. Completely ridiculous but loved it. I especially loved the montage of characters being recalled from their jobs. The navigator was bald the whole time!? Lol.
I remember that a lot of people used to hate it when it was new because most of them simply just did not get what the show is about. The entire show is a parody of the Space Opera genre. The fact that they were running the show this way should be of no surprise. The show isn't designed to be taken seriously and it basically lets you know it once again.
Worthy of note also that they stuck with theme of using classical music and in my personal opinion Hungarian Dance No. 5 fit the ending very well.
If you stuck with me from the beginning of the show, thank you once again, I hope you enjoyed it.

Pretty great penultimate episode, lets hope it wraps up nicely.
Yuriko's conversation with Lieutenant Renandi made her realize that UPSF current conduct such as lack of common courtesy and respect is sort of at odds and perhaps abnormal when it's compared to Tylor's behaviour and it is mirrored exactly by how the two highest ranking UPSF officers had been acting the entire series. That, I guess, is the entire point of this show in a way, besides the comedy of course. Just because you work in the military doesn't mean you have to stop acting like a decent human being and in the end that is how you will truly make a difference.

A surprisingly affecting episode considering that the admiral was a minor (and largely incoherent) character. The episode is so well executed. From the animation style, sound to the music is very amazing for this situation.
As usual, Tylor is just doing what he always does following his heart, and based on the fact that there is a sequel OVA to this I doubt his departure from the UPSF will be permanent, but still nice drama in this episode.
