In Los Angeles, the LAPD released video footage of a fatal officer-involved shooting (OIS) on November 1st. The incident, involving a knife-wielding suspect who had attacked someone with a machete, unfolded at 23400 West Calabasas Road and Mulholland Drive around 7:40 p.m. Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon at a McDonald's parking lot, where the suspect attacked an individual. A subsequent confrontation at a nearby Sagebrush Cantina resulted in officers shooting and injuring the suspect.

On April 5th, a rookie NYPD officer was shot in the groin while trying to apprehend a suspect in Queens. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. when officers responded to a dispute on an MTA bus. The suspect fled after a struggle, and the rookie officer caught up, prompting the suspect to fire a shot. The partner fired two shots in return as the suspect escaped into a nearby parking garage.
After adventures with PPD deaf and dumb and intentionally dumb and deaf these two officers were really first ones who actually conducted themselves in professional manner. Hopefully change will be made with time in Phoenix PD. I was told to address any inappropriate behavior in PD with supervisors. Hear the conversation for yourself.

A Clearwater police officer was the foster parent caring for the 7-month-old who was fatally attacked by a pit bull mix, officials said Saturday.
The cityâs public communications director Joelle Castelli confirmed that a detective with the Clearwater Police Department was the licensed foster parent caring for the child who died Friday, but would not comment further.

Police said the child was being watched by the parents of one of her foster parents when she was bitten by a pit bull mix named Lynnie. The Department of Children and Families said there was no history of abuse or neglect involving the family prior to the incident.
The dog was seized by Animal Control and is being held under rabies quarantine for 10 days. Itâs unclear if the dog will be euthanized.
The Clearwater Police Department and the Department of Children and Families are investigating.

In January 2023 after attempt on my life police this took only over the phone report and nobody bothered to investigate. Suspect if convicted will be serving 15 years for attempted murder of another female. Today I called police about neighbors kids harassing me and my pets: shooting rocks at me and pets. During call at 11/29/23 4:44 pm lady on no emergency number was strangely dismissive: if you have not been injured, police does not have to come out. Also assumed that it was retaliation for unruly kids soccer ball thrown in the trash: felt like she was approving that. With the rude tone she announced that police will arrive as soon as possible and literally hung up on me. Six hours later no police showing up. Almost 11 pm calling again hoping at least to file report. I was offered to wait who knows how long or call back in the morning. Yes, Phoenix police is serving and protecting, just not sure who.
On June 15, 2021, Deputy Sheriff Eric Tollackson with the Vernon County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a residence for an unstable male in La Farge, WI. Upon arrival, the male immediately sprinted at the deputy and head-butted him to the ground. Los Angeles, California â On January 2, 2023 around 3:30 p.m., LAPD Rampart Patrol Division officers responded to a radio call of a âViolation of Restraining Orderâ at an apartment building in the 200 block of South Witmer Street. When officers arrived, they located the victim, who provided a valid restraining order and told officers the suspect was inside of an apartment unit. The officers requested additional units, a supervisor, and formulated a tactical plan. The officers conducted a follow up to the apartment to investigate the restraining order violation. The officers met the suspect, 45-year-old Takar Smith, at the front door to the apartment unit and began a dialogue, attempting to get him to exit into the hallway and surrender.
Smith refused to exit and became increasingly agitated, prompting officers to employ de-escalation tactics for an extended period. Smith went to the kitchen and armed himself with a large knife and officers deployed two Tasers and pepper spray. The less lethal options initially caused Smith to drop the knife on the floor; however, he immediately picked up the knife, raised it above his head, and an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred. Two officers fired their guns for a total of seven shots. Smith was pronounced (DECEASED)at scene. No officers, victims, or bystanders were injured during this incident. A large knife (approximately10-inch butcher style) was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence.

BANGOR TWP, MI â Five people are in custody after allegedly burglarizing a Bay County marijuana store, then leading police on a chase into neighboring Saginaw County.
At about 4:53 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, sheriffâs deputies responded to a breaking-and-entering at Smoke Society, 3697 E. Wilder Road in Bangor Township. It appeared the thieves had used a tool to pry open a door and gain entry, said Sheriff Troy R. Cunningham. Deputies spoke with the shopâs manager, who said the businessâ security camera system alerted him to the break-in.
From the video footage, deputies obtained a description of the suspect vehicle, a black GMC pickup truck, Cunningham said. They notified Bay County Central Dispatch to put a be-on-the-lookout alert to their counterparts in Saginaw County, he said.

A convicted Texas drug dealer who shot a Houston cop during a May 4 narcotics bust now faces federal charges, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday.
Federal prosecutors charged Jimmy âJimboâ Caston Bryan, 23, of Pasadena, with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamines and toting a firearm to a narcotics trafficking crime. Texas authorities slapped Bryan with two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant shortly after the shooting.
Texas records reveal that Bryan remains incarcerated in the Harris County Jail pending a May 18 hearing at the Harris County Criminal Justice Center.
If convicted on the federal drug charge, he faces a minimum of 10 years behind bars, but a judge also could order him to spend the rest of his life in prison. The firearms charge adds another 10 years minimum in a federal penitentiary.

Cops were filmed beating a suspect lying in the parking lot of a California McDonald's with a large nightstick as horrified onlookers pleaded for them to stop. The confrontation happened after an argument between an officer from McFarland police and customers inside the door, leading to a chase outside. There, police were filmed hitting suspects and tackling them to the ground. While there, the suspect squirmed in police custody as one officer hit him in the legs with a large baton. It's unclear what led police to confront the customers or if anyone was charged with a crime. Video of the incident was posted to Reddit over the weekend.McFarland police have not commented on the officer's actions, and officials did not respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment. One social media user ripped the cop's handling of the situation and described them as a 'tax-funded gang.' It's unclear exactly when the incident happened.
In the video, a police officer armed with a rifle that was strapped to his chest could be seen arguing with a male customer, who repeatedly asked the cop what he was doing wrong.
The video did not make it clear what led to the argument between the man and a woman standing next to him.

Cottonwood, AZ, May 7, 2020â On May 6, 2020 at approximately 7:22 AM, Cottonwood Officers responded to the 1400 block of E. Birch Street, Cottonwood AZ for the report of a male subject who had been observed demonstrating erratic behavior and threatening others with physical violence. Citizens in the area advised officers that this subjectâs erratic behaviors have been escalating over the last few weeks. Officers identified this subject as Cottonwood resident, 57-year-old Jeffrey John Thomas. Due to Jeffery Thomasâ erratic and unusual behavior Mobile Behavioral Crisis Team was called to assist with a mental health evaluation.
Based on the Crisis Teamâs on-scene evaluation of Jeffery Thomas, they ultimately filed a petition which authorized the detention of Jeffery for further evaluation. Cottonwood Police Officers attempted to serve this order on Jeffery Thomas. After multiple attempts to get Jeffery to exit his residence and his refusal, it was decided at that time to allow Jeffery to deescalate and attempt contact with him later that day.

San Diego Police Department released video footage of the fatal shooting by three officers of a robbery suspect, 21-year-old Isaac Andrade, who allegedly pulled a knife and a pellet gun on them in Logan Heights.
LAPD officers shot and killed a suspect as they encountered him continuing to stab a man in a Reseda parking lot on Tuesday, police said.
Officers were sent to a strip mall at Reseda Boulevard and Saticoy Street at 11:09 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of a man armed with a knife, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
When officers arrived they saw the suspect continuing to actively stab a man on the ground, according to LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton.
They repeatedly ordered him to stop and deployed a less-lethal device described as a ".40mm impact munition." When those failed to stop the assault, they shot him, Hamilton said.
The suspect was declared dead at the scene a short time later. A knife was recovered at the scene.
The stabbing victim was brought to a local hospital with multiple wounds. He was in stable condition and is expected to survive.
The (DECEASED) suspect has been identified only as a man believed to be in his 20s or 30s.
Police are still investigating the events that led up to the stabbing and whether the victim and suspect knew each other.

Cop sits in van, people slap the windows with their hands
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania â On August 14, 2023, around 12:30 p.m., Philadelphia Police Officer Mark Dial and his partner began following 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry because he was driving erratically in the area of B Street and Erie Avenue, according to police. Irizarry eventually pulled into a parking spot on the 100 block of East Willard Street, having turned onto the street at a slow rate of speed going in the wrong direction. The officers stopped their vehicle parallel to Irizarryâs, exited, and approached. The bodycam footage shows Officer Dial approaching the driverâs side of Irizarryâs vehicle, as Irizarry is seated.
Both officers approached with their firearms out. At one point Irizarry is observed holding a small, open folding knife against his thigh. He then rolled up the driverâs side window. Dial is shown discharging his firearm into the vehicle six times, shattering the driverâs side glass and repeatedly striking Irizarry at close range. After being pulled out of his vehicle and transported to Temple Hospital, Irizarry, 27, was pronounced (DECEASED) with the medical examination finding cause of death as âMultiple Gunshot Woundsâ and the manner of death listed as âHomicide.â
District Attorney Larry Krasner on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, announced the arrest of Philadelphia Police Officer Mark Dial for his role in the fatal shooting of Eddie Irizarry in August. Dial turned himself in Friday morning at a police station in South Philadelphia. He was joined by his attorneys and representatives from the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5. The Philadelphia Police Department moved to fire him for insubordination last month after he failed to cooperate with the shooting investigation. Dial has been charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment of another person and official oppression.
San Antonio, Texas â On September 4, 2023, While on patrol, two officers assigned with the SAPD Covert Response Unit, received information on the location of a suspect, who was wanted on 4 warrants for Aggravated Robbery. Both officers, each in a separate vehicle, drove to the rear of the apartment complex to apprehend the suspect. As the first officer arrived, the suspect began walking away from the officer while having his left hand in his pocket.
The officer gave him commands to show him his hands and the suspect removed a cell phone from his left pocket. Officers continued to give commands when the suspect turned and began to walk away from the officers, while reaching into his front pockets. One officer deployed his Taser on the suspect, causing the suspect to fall forward. As the suspect fell, he rotated his body around, pointing a firearm at both officers. Both officers discharged their firearms at the suspect, striking him. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Jacob String, was pronounced (DECEASED)at the scene.

Indianapolis, Indiana â On September 22, 2023, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers were called to the 2200 block of South Shelby Street in response to an armed robbery of a Dollar General. IMPD says they were conducting a serial robbery investigation on 27-year-old Ricktez Williams. Detectives observed Williams enter a store and exit the store with a bag. According to police, it was confirmed with a store employee that an armed robbery had just occurred. Police said they then witnessed Williams get into a car with a female driver. SWAT officers then responded to the area where the armed robbery reportedly took place and located the suspect vehicle, identified as a Silver Buick Lesabre in the 600 block of South Missouri Street.
The SWAT officers then attempted to conduct a pursuit prevention technique on the vehicle, which police said was being operated by a woman police identified as 25-year-old Eriana Morris. The officers deployed a grappler device and successfully subdued the vehicle. As officers deployed the grappler device, it appears Williams points a gun out of the passenger window and fires multiple shots at the officers' cars. After Williams fired at officers, three officers returned fire at Williams and Morris. As officers approached Morris, she could be heard telling them that she was pregnant. Williams and the Morris were both transported to the hospital in critical condition. Williams later (DIED) at the hospital. Morris was later charged with armed robbery for her alleged role in the incident. Officers recovered the gun that Williams used to fire at officers, which police say was reported as stolen in 2022. No officers were injured during the incident.
