Edit 2a for headphones. This video keeps getting blocked in Sweden, so, this one is for the Swedish. Various of my YouTube videos get blocked by Russia, so, Swedish music industry a$$holes: you're no different than nazi Putin and his henchmen! Recorded May 12 & 13, 1965. Released on the US version of the album "Out Of Our Heads" in 1965. It was not on the UK release of that album! Six years later it was released in the UK on "Stone Age". So that indeed took more than one try...
Harmonica: Brian Jones. Guitars: Brian Jones & Keith Richards. Bass: Bill Wyman. Drums: Charlie Watts. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger.
The thing I really like is the false start of Brian's harmonica at 0.20 that was meant to start at 0.23... they didn't bother and just left it there; no hours overdubbing and seemingly endless editing, come on, record it & on to the next song! Pure, real live music !
The source of this song is the version on the lp "Out Of Our Heads" of the 1984 "Original Master Recordings Box Set" [11 vinyl lp] by the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (RC-1).
ONE MORE TRY
(Jagger/Richards)
you need some money in a hurry
but the things ain't right
you try to beg and borrow maybe start a fight
your friends don't wanna know you they just pass you by
so they couldn't be your friends because they wouldn't lie
sit down shut up don't dare cry
things're gettin' better if you really try
so don't ya panic don't ya panic
give it one more try
don't ya panic don't ya panic
give it one more try
you gotta girl that doesn't bring you all she cries
the day turns into night to try to satisfy
you bring her all the things she want she don't improve
you think you'd give her up and she'd maybe move
sit down shut up don't dare to cry
things're gettin' better if you really try
so don't ya panic don't ya panic
give it one more try
don't ya panic don't ya panic
give it one more try
try !
the things that don't matter easy come and go
and the things that satisfy only come real slow
you gotta know a what you want in your mind
'cause it's better when you get it if you really try
so, sit down shut up don't dare cry
things're gettin' better if you really try
so don't ya panic don't ya panic
give it one more try
don't ya panic don't ya panic
give it one more try
keep on trying
keep on trying
keep on trying
keep on trying
keep on trying
you gotta keep trying
o such a good trying

Edit 1 for headphones. The fabulous Byrds with a lip synched performance in the "Hollywood A Go Go" television show, november 6, 1965. In May 2012 I made a special edit of a stereo version of the song... so, an old one. Hope you like it!
"Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There Is a Season)" is a song written by Pete Seeger in the late 1950s. The lyrics, except for the title which is repeated throughout the song, and the final verse of the song, are adapted word-for-word from Chapter 3 of the Book of Ecclesiastes, set to music and recorded in 1962. The song was originally released as "To Everything There Is a Season" on The Limeliters' album "Folk Matinee" and then some months later on Seeger's own "The Bitter and the Sweet".
The song became an international hit in late 1965 when it was covered by the American folk rock band The Byrds, bowing at #80 on October 23, 1965, before reaching #1 on the Hot 100 chart on December 4, 1965, #3 in Canada (Nov. 29, 1965), and also peaking at #26 on the UK Singles Chart. A #15 hit in Holland. In the US the song holds distinction as the #1 hit with the oldest lyrics (Book of Ecclesiastes), theoretically authored by King Solomon.
TURN! TURN! TURN! (TO EVERYTHING THERE IS A SEASON)
(king Solomon/Pete Seeger)
to everything, turn, turn, turn
there is a season, turn, turn, turn
and a time to every purpose under heaven
a time to be born, a time to die
a time to plant, a time to reap
a time to kill, a time to heal
a time to laugh, a time to weep
to everything, turn, turn, turn
there is a season, turn, turn, turn
and a time to every purpose under heaven
a time to build up, a time to break down
a time to dance, a time to mourn
a time to cast away stones
a time to gather stones together
to everything, turn, turn, turn
there is a season, turn, turn, turn
and a time to every purpose under heaven
a time of love, a time of hate
a time of war, a time of peace
a time you may embrace
a time to refrain from embracing
to everything, turn, turn, turn
there is a season, turn, turn, turn
and a time to every purpose under heaven
a time to gain, a time to lose
a time to rend, a time to sew
a time for love, a time for hate
a time for peace, I swear it's not too late

Edit 3 (of version 1) for headphones. This is the Rolling Stones song I like the best...
Three versions. First version - this one - is the long, uncut one from "Aftermath", the album every Stones fan should buy. It has the chorus accompaniment centered.
Second version is the different mix from the album "Flowers": the chorus accompaniment at the right, and the song cut almost two minutes shorter.
Third version is on "Metamorphosis", the Andrew Loog Oldham skillfully messed up version...
Source cd of this edit: the 2006 Japanese remastered mini lp "Aftermath" (UK version)(uicy-93021).
Main artistic influence: Brian Jones. Marimbas & piano: Brian Jones. Background vocals: Brian Jones, Bill Wyman & Keith Richards. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Acoustic guitars: Keith Richards. Harpsichord: Jack Nitzsche. Organ: Ian Stewart. Drums: Charlie Watts. Bass: Bill Wyman.
Photos at 3:36 - 3:37 are of Brian and model Penelope Tree, presumably from spring 1969. Taken by David Bailey. 3:49 has Brian Jones in the same clothes, also a Bailey photo.
OUT OF TIME
(Jagger/Richards)
you don't know what's going on
you've been away for far too long
you can't come back and think you are still mine
you're out of touch my baby
my poor discarded baby
I said, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
well, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
you are left out
out of there without a doubt
'cause baby, baby, baby you're out of time
the girl that wants to run away
discovers that she's had her day
it's no good you're thinking that you are still mine
you're out of touch my baby
my poor unfaithful baby
I said, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
well, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
yes you are left out
out of there without a doubt
'cause baby, baby, baby, you're out of time
you thought you were a clever girl
giving up your social whirl
but you can't come back and be the first in line, oh no
you're obsolete my baby
my poor old-fashioned baby
I said baby, baby, baby you're out of time
well, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
I said, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
yes, you are left out
out of there without a doubt
'cause baby, baby, baby you're out of time
sing the song....
baby, baby, baby you're out of time
I said baby, baby, baby you're out of time
ahhh... baby, baby, baby you're out of time
you don't know what's going on
you've been away for much too long
but you can't come back and think you are still mine
you're out of touch my baby
my poor discarded baby
I said, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
well, baby, baby, baby you're out of time
I said baby, baby, baby you're out of time
yes you are left out, ah yes you are
I said you're a left a out of there without a doubt
'cause baby, baby, baby you're out of time
allright,
I said baby, baby, baby you're out of time
I said baby,
Not an edit. After listening to this song for its six minutes and twenty seconds I got the impression they didn't intend to go to San Francisco at all. I think all four of these studio session musicians had fear of flying or crossing oceans on a boat. This was a big hit in 1967. Their second hit was "A Walk In The SKy", charting nr.6 in Holland, which sounds like a copy of "Let's Go To San Francisco", but than with different lyrics: https://youtu.be/S2p3-YcHSNc?t=17
Their next single may be "Finally, We Reached San Francisco", but I think that will take quite some time...
Enjoy the sixties photos!

PAINT IT, BLACK
(Jagger/Richards)
I see a red door and I want it painted black
no colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
with flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
like a new born baby it just happens ev'ry day
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
it's not easy facin' up when your whole world is black
no more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you
if I look hard enough into the settin' sun
my love will laugh with me before the mornin' comes
I see a red door and I want it painted black
no colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
hmm, hmm, hmm...
I wanna see it painted, painted black
black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
yeah!

Edit 1a for headphones. Dubbed video. This is a "Top of the Pops" rehearsal video. I cut most rehearsal views of studio people and replaced them with bits of Sandie.

LONG LIVE LOVE
(Chris Andrews)
Venus must have heard my plea
she has sent someone along for me
I have waited a long long time
for somebody to call mine
and at last he's come along
baby oh nothing can go wrong
we meet every night at eight
and I don't get home till late
I say to myself each day
baby oh long long live love
mmm
true love must be the greatest thing
I know now why singers sing
of the moon and stars above
how I love to be in love
we meet every night at eight
and I don't get home till late
I say to myself each day
baby oh long long live love
mmm
now of one thing I'm more than sure
since love come I don't want more
than to kiss him every night
makes everything alright
we meet every night at eight
and I don't get home till late
I say to myself each day
baby oh long long live love
mmm
we meet every night at eight
and I don't get home till late
I say to myself each day
baby oh long long live love
mmm
long long live love

Edit 1a (r&r circus) for headphones. This one from the "Rock And Roll Circus" is what we call 'narrow stereo', so it needed a bit of enhancement. The "Circus" was shot on film December 11, 1968, released 28 years later, in 1996, most likely because the Stones weren't satisfied with their performance. Well, it looks & sounds perfect to me!

Edit 1a for headphones. Dave Davies' 1967 solo single.
The intro was played by Nicky Hopkins (who played the piano throughout), plucking the piano strings with a plectrum, the recording then using tape-echo and reverb. The 40 "la's" were sung by Ray Davies' wife and Ray himself sings harmony with his brother and another 39 "la's". So there are 158 la's in this song, which contains 138 other words. Says count Count.
DEATH OF A CLOWN
(Raymond Douglas (Ray) Davies, Dave Davies)
my makeup is dry and it cracks from my chin
I'm drowning my sorrows in whisky and gin
the lion tamer's whip doesn't crack anymore
the lions they won't fight and the tigers won't roar
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
so let's all drink to the death of a clown
won't someone help me to break up this crown
let's all drink to the death of a clown
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
let's all drink to the death of a clown
the old fortune teller lies dead on the floor
nobody needs fortunes told anymore
the trainer of insects is crouched on his knees
and frantic'lly looking for runaway fleas
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
let's all drink to the death of a clown
so won't someone help me to break up this crown
let's all drink to the death of a clown
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
let's all drink to the death of a clown
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la

Edit 2a for headphones. Lyrics were written by Brian Jones & Keith Richards, with the music written by Brian Jones, but he was never credited. *
UMG on behalf of Decca Music Group Ltd.
* Youtuber "Fallen Angel" wrote:
Although they perpetrated many abuses against Brian Jones, the manner in which Jagger and Richards denied Jones a writing credit for 'Ruby Tuesday' stands as a glaring example of their rapacious thuggery. For the facts regarding the creation of 'Ruby Tuesday' are (a) that the song is based on a descant (a trebly melody) that Jones wrote and played to the band when they were in the studio, (b) that when Richards heard that melody, he co-wrote a piano accompaniment with Jones, and then added lyrics, (c) that the song was ultimately composed by Jones and Richards, with Jones having written better than 60% of the song, and (d) that, whereas Jagger receives a co-writing credit, he actually contributed absolutely nothing to the composition of the song. When the song was released it was obvious to anyone who heard it that, though Jagger sang the vocal line, the most prominent element was not his vocal, but rather the extraordinarily beautiful, wistful, slightly Elizabethan descant that Brian Jones wrote and performed on the recorder. It is also Jones who plays the piano that underlines the verses. Thus, upon its release, it was the infectious melody that Jones wrote and performed that sent 'Ruby Tuesday' to the top of charts around the world. However, in spite of the fact that it is patently obvious that Brain Jones had a huge hand in the composition of 'Ruby Tuesday,' the song's authorship, from the time of its original release in 1966 through the present day, has been credited to Jagger/Richards. Thus, it is clear that in maintaining the deception as to the song's true authorship, Jagger and Richards have not only denied Jones a rightful credit for co-writing 'Ruby Tuesday', but have also effectively prevented him (and subsequently his estate) from earning any royalties from the enormous sales that the song has generated. What could have prompted Jagger and Richards to deny Brian Jones the writing credit that he justly deserved for essentially writing 'Ruby Tuesday'?... Were they motivated by greed?... Did they deny Jones a writing credit in order to steal his money? YES and NO... As they had already attained considerable success and wealth, as songwriters before 'Ruby Tuesday' was written and released, it seems rather than monetary greed the motivation on the part of Jagger and Richards to deny Jones a writing credit for 'Ruby Tuesday' was most certainly born out of their greed for power and control over the Rolling Stones. Of course the TRUTH is that, whereas Jagger and Richards have appropriated both all of the credit and all of the royalties for the Rolling Stones catalogue of original songs, the simple fact is that Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and several other musicians (most prominently, Billy Preston) have all made significant contributions (albeit, un-credited) to the writing of some of the best known Rolling Stones songs. However, beyond their greed for power and control, the element that motivated Jagger and Richards in 1966 to deny Brain Jones a song writing credit for 'Ruby Tuesday is the same element that motivates them today: the unbridled hatred, spite and malice that they developed in the early days of the band towards Jones, simply because it was Jones (not Jagger or Richards) who invented both The Rolling Stones and the lifestyle for which they have been known, and widely celebrated, for well over fifty-years. Motivated by the hatred that they've held against Jones since the very early days of the band, Jagger and Richards have determined not only to deny Jones credit for his musical compositions, but, above all, to deny him any credit for being the creator, conceptualizer and originator of the Rolling Stones. To that end, when Brian was alive, they constantly bullied, humiliated, belittled and physically attacked Jones in order to demoralize him, and thus deter him from playing any role within the band that would further his enormous creative contribution to the artistic legacy of the Rolling Stones. He plunged into the deep depression which, along with other factors, ultimately led to his death.
Edit 2 for headphones, July 2022.
In the official release at 0.48,5 something strange happens: the cymbal sound at the left & centered suddenly changes to the left channel, remaining so till 2.02, while after 2.02 it randomly is left/centered and left. I don't think that was meant to be, I tried to fix it.
Source file of the edit is the real great vinyl rip of the 1969 album "The Pious Bird Of Good Omen" (label Blue Horizon/Speakers Corner, catalogue number 7-63215, a 180g LP.)
The vinyl rip was mastered by Maarten de Boer @ The Masters; the Netherlands.

The single charted no. 31 in the UK Singles Chart in August 1968. In Holland it was for 21 weeks in the Top 40 and topped no. 7. That's probably why it was a Dutchman who ripped the vinyl, well, he did a great job, for it sounds way better than the official digital releases that I have.
NEED YOUR LOVE SO BAD
(Mertis John Jr.)
'need someone's hand
to lead me through the night
I need someone's arms
to hold and squeeze me tight
ah when the night begins
I'm at an end
because I need your love so bad
I need some lips
to feel next to mine
'need someone to stand up
and tell me when I'm lyin'
ah when the lights are low
and it's time to go
that's when I need your love so bad
so why don't you give it up
and bring it home to me
or write it on a piece of paper baby
so it can be read to me
tell me that you love me
and stop drivin' me mad
oh because I
I need your love so bad
need a soft voice
'a talk to me at night
I don't want you to worry baby
I know we can make everything alright
listen to my plea baby
bring it to me
because I need your love so bad

Edit 1a (r&r circus) for headphones. Another one from the "Rock And Roll Circus", very narrow stereo, or let's just say quite mono, that needed some sound "enhancement". The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus is a film of an 11 December 1968 event organized by The Rolling Stones. The original line up was going to be The Faces, The Rolling Stones and The Who and the concept of a circus was firstly thought up between Mick Jagger, Pete Townshend and Ronnie Lane and was originally meant to be aired on the BBC, but the Rolling Stones withheld it. The Stones stated they did so because their performance wasn't very good. Others think the true reason was that The Who performed far better than the Stones. As is clearly to be seen & heard the Stones' performance was undoubtedly good, and it is also clearly to be seen & heard that anyone present wittnessed the awful messing up of this event by Yoko Ono, screaming and yelling like an idiot. I'm convinced the audience must have had their toes crooked and their ears covered during her "singing". No wonder the whole thing was postponed! For twenty eight years! Another reason may be the fact that all artists were recorded in stereo, while of the six songs the Stones performed' only two were stereo (no expectations & you can't always get what you want); the other five songs were recorded narrow stereo.
Nice thing about this video: Keith Richards reads the lines from a paper that Mick Jagger holds in his hands for him, watch him turning the page at 1.49.

Edit for headphones. The studio recording of Muswell Hillbilly is on the album "Muswell Hillbillies", released in November 1971. The album is named after the Muswell Hill area of North London, where Ray and Dave Davies grew up and the band formed in the early 1960s. This video is a live performance on German tv.
"Stereo Review magazine" called it "album of the year" in 1972 (even though it was released on 24 November 1971). In the 1984 "Rolling Stone Album Guide", Rolling Stone editors gave the album five stars out of five and called it Davies' "signature statement" as a songwriter.
In a retrospective review for Allmusic, Stephen Thomas Erlewine feels the album is a wide-ranging collection of Ray Davies compositions which focus on the tensions and frustrations of modern life. The album introduces a number of working class figures and the stresses with which they must contend.
Yet, the album was not a commercial success, it only charted in the US, no 100 in the Billboard 200.
personnel on the album:
Ray Davies: lead vocals, acoustic guitar, resonator guitar
Dave Davies: lead guitar, slide guitar, banjo, backing vocals

Edit 3 for headphones, October 2021. Dubbed video. It's a remix of the version on the 1985 remastered album "Hot Rocks 1" (London 820 41-2)] (Has a shameless fade in!)
Recorded May 10-13, 1965. Released first as a US single June 6, 1965. Released on the US lp "Out Of Our Heads", July 1965. Released on the UK lp "Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass)" November 4, 1966.
Acoustic guitar: Brian Jones. Electric guitar: Keith Richards (lead). Bass: Bill Wyman. Drums: Charlie Watts. Lead vocals & tambourine: Mick Jagger. Background vocals: Keith Richards. Piano & tambourine: Jack Nitzsche.
Richards ran his guitar through a Gibson Fuzz Box to create the distortion effect. He had no intention of using the sound on the record, but Gibson had just sent him the device, and he thought the Fuzz Box would create sustained notes to help sketch out the horn section. The band thought it sounded great and wanted to use the sound because it would be very unusual for a rock record. Richards thought it sounded gimmicky and did not like the result, but the rest of the band convinced him to ditch the horn section and use the distorted guitar sound.
Other info states that Ian Stewart (the sixth Stone) purchased another distortion box, for Keith Richards wasn't satisfied with the Gibson. The unknown brand proved to be better.
Robert Cross wrote: "Jagger and Richards originally thought the song was going to have a "country music" sound to it, almost a "novelty" (silly) song about a Nashville musician who finds the rapidly changing world of the 1960s has left him behind. Grand Old Opry stars had very bitter feelings toward "British Invasion" groups.
The bad grammar (double negative) of "can't get no" was supposed to be a dig at the low intelligence of country music artists and fans. Mick & Keith didn't appreciate all the vitriol (=cruel and bitter criticism) they were receiving from them."
(I CAN'T GET NO) SATISFACTION
(Jagger/Richards)
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
when I'm drivin' in my car
and a man comes on the radio
he's telling me more and more
about some useless information
supposed to fire my imagination
I can't get no, oh no no no
hey hey hey, that's what I say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
'cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
when I'm watchin' my tv
and a man comes on to tell me
how white my shirts can be
but he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke
the same cigarrettes as me
I can't get no, oh no no no
hey hey hey, that's what I say
I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no girlie action
'cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
when I'm ridin' round the world
and I'm doin' this and I'm signing that
and I'm tryin' to make some girl
who tells me baby better come back later next week
'cause you see I'm on losing streak
I can't get no, a no no no
hey hey hey, that's what I say
I can't get no, I can't get no
I can't get no satisfaction
no satisfaction, no satisfaction, no satisfaction

Edit 3 for headphones. Dubbed video. Hope you like this masterpiece from the sixties, a piece of art by John Sebastian and his friends, guitar player Zal Yanovsky, drummer Joe Butler and bass player Steve Boone. Artie Schroeck did the arrangement for the strings and horns, he also played tambourine.
In 1967 it charted nr.8 in - wow - Canada. It was for nine weeks in the Dutch charts, highest position 15. It was eight weeks in the US Billboard top 100, peaking at 15. UK 44 ("Song too long", the British dj's creed!). Australia 90. How retarded some countries can be...
Source files of this edit is the version on the album "The Lovin' Spoonful – Greatest Hits" Label: Buddha Records – 74465 99716 2.
The album reads: Digitally remastered for the first time from long lost first generation master tapes.
DARLING BE HOME SOON
(John Sebastian)
come, and talk of all the things we did today
here, and laugh about our funny little ways
while we have a few minutes to breathe
then I know that it's time you must leave
but darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
my darling be home soon
it's not just these few hours, but I've been waiting since I toddled
for the great relief of having you to talk to
and now, a quarter of my life is almost past
I think I've come to see myself at last
and I see that the time spent confused
was the time that I spent without you
and I feel myself in bloom
so darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
my darling be home soon
it's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
for the great relief of having you to talk to
so darling, my darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
my darling be home soon
it's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
for the great relief of having you to talk to
go, and beat your crazy head against the sky
try, and see beyond the houses and your eyes
it's okay to shoot the moon
darling be home soon
I couldn't bear to wait an extra minute if you dawdled
my darling be home soon
it's not just these few hours but I've been waiting since I toddled
for the great relief of having you to talk to

MOVE YOUR HIPS
(Slim Harpo)
The Stones covered Harpo's "I'm a King Bee" on their first album. Their title for the live album "Got Live If You Want It!" is a reworking of a Harpo song called "Got Love If You Want It".

is this a super charged full frequency recording range live performance home stereo equipment effect? No, just an edit for headphones. Or what?

NASHVILLE CATS
(John Sebastian)
Nashville cats, play clean as country water
Nashville cats, play wild as mountain dew
Nashville cats, been playin' since they's babies
Nashville cats, get work before they're two
Well, there's thirteen hundred and fifty-two
Guitar pickers in Nashville
And they can pick more notes than the number of ants
On a Tennessee anthill
Yeah, there's thirteen hundred and fifty-two
Guitar cases in Nashville
And any one that unpacks his guitar could play
Twice as better than I will
Yeah, I was just thirteen, you might say I was a
Musical proverbial knee-high
When I heard a couple new-sounding tunes on the tubes
And they blasted me sky-high
And the record man said every one is a yellow sun *
Record from Nashville
And up north there ain't nobody buys them
And I said, "But I will"
And it was
Nashville cats, play clean as country water
Nashville cats, play wild as mountain dew
Nashville cats, been playin' since they's babies
Nashville cats, get work before they're two
Well, there's sixteen thousand eight hundred and twenty-one
Mothers from Nashville
All their friends play music, and they ain't uptight
If one of the kids will
Because it's custom made for any mother's son
To be a guitar picker in Nashville
And I sure am glad I got a chance to say a word about
The music and the mothers from Nashville
Nashville cats, play clean as country water
Nashville cats, play wild as mountain dew
Nashville cats, been playin' since they's babies
Nashville cats, get work before they're two
Kick it...

SHE SAID YEAH
(Roderick/Don Christy (pseudonym of Sonny Bono*)/George Rodrick "Roddy" Jackson)
Dam deedle dee dam dam
Little girl where did you come from
Try a little bit to make my mouth dribble
Come on baby, let's ride away in the rain
Baby you drive me crazy
Drive my poor heart hazy
Just a little bit
A little while with you
Come on baby, let's ride away in the rain
She said yeah, dam deedle dee dam dam
She said yeah, dam deedle dee dam dam
She said yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Come on baby I want to make love to you
Well you drive me crazy
Dam deedle dee dam dam
My love is lazy
Dam deedle dee dam dam
Little miss I want to kiss
Come on baby, won't you do what I wish
She said yeah, dam deedle dee dam dam
She said yeah, dam deedle dee dam dam
She said yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Come on baby I want to make love to you
Yeah, ow!
Well I got the feeling, dam deedle dee dam dam
In my soul, dam deedle dee dam dam
I'm gonna love you, you know
One night or another
Come on baby, let me hear you say you love me
She said yeah, dam deedle dee dam dam
She said yeah, dam deedle dee dam dam
She said yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Come on baby I want to make love to you

Edit for headphones. It was a lip synch performance on "Beat Club" of March 29, 1969. Therefore I added my edit of the stereo version of the song from the album "The Ultimate Rascals" (1986, Warner) to the video. From 1966 to 1968 The Rascals had three #1 hit singles in the US: "Good Lovin'" (1966), "Groovin'" (1967) and "People Got to Be Free" (1968). Other hit singles: "How Can I Be Sure?" (#4 1967) and "A Beautiful Morning" (#3 1968) and "A Girl Like You" (#10 1967). In 1969 "Heaven" reached #4 in Canada, #39 (#17 Cash Box) in the US, #58 in Australia.
Eddie Brigati: vocals. Felix Cavaliere: keyboard, vocals. Gene Cornish: guitar. Dino Danelli: drums. The "fifth Rascal" was Eddie Brigati's brother David, he helped arrange the vocal harmonies and sang backgrounds on many of the group's recordings.
HEAVEN
(Felix Cavaliere)
sometimes, baby, when you're really down
there just don't seem to be a ray of hope around
and everybody that you meet kind of wears a frown
it's cold and lonely in the heart of town
got to tell you all that
there's a place that's called heaven
don't you ever forget
now, once I heard about heaven, yeah
I'm gonna get there yet
some days you laugh, some days you cry
sometimes it feels like the world has passed you right by
but everybody's got to find a peaceful place to hide
if you're out looking, take a look inside
and I think you'll find that
there's a place that's called heaven
you might think that's kind of square, oh oh yeah
if you don't believe in heaven, yeah
you ain't never been there
they'll try to bring you down to their way of thinking, yeah
but don't you do it, no no, don't you let it get by (don't let it by)
a little voice inside will tell you exactly what you're gonna do
don't be a fool ooh yeah
you don't have to go looking near or far
'cause you can find happiness standing right where you are
just open up the windows that are in your heart
and let the light shine, then your life will start
please believe it that
there's a place that's called heaven
it's filled with joy and peace, whoa oh yeah
and once you get a look at heaven, yeah
you'll find the love that you seek
when all the world is falling down
you'll find a world filled with peace and love and joy
for every girl and boy
and all your troubles will cease
you know, somebody said to keep on pushing
'cause there's a change that's got to come
she said, "thank the lord"
and every day I thank you, lord
for all the stars and all the seas
and all the birds and all the bees
it's heaven, whoo, oh oh, yeah, oh oh

Edit 2 for headphones. Source of the edit is on the Japanese mini lp "Between The Buttons" (us version 2006 remaster uicy-93023). Edit to enjoy the organ & bass even more intensely. I so really dig this song. It's nearly perfect. It is fabulous. Real great organ & real great bass performance. A natural born singer, Mick Jagger.
Recorded August 3-11, 1966, released on "Between The Buttons" * in February of 1967.
Organ: Brian Jones. Bass and backing vocals: Keith Richards. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Piano: Jack Nitzsche. Drums: Charlie Watts. (The only Rolling Stones' song without guitar, says monsieur Big Sky.)(Merci beaucoup!)
"Between the Buttons" was called 'among the greatest rock albums' by Robert Christgau, who later included it in his "Basic Record Library" of 1950s and 1960s recordings, published in Christgau's Record Guide: Rock Albums of the Seventies (1981). He also wrote of the album for Rolling Stone magazine's "40 Essential Albums of 1967": "[T]his underrated keeper is distinguished by complex rhymes, complex sexual stereotyping, and the non-blues, oh-so-rock-and-roll pianos of Ian Stewart, Jack Nitzsche, Nicky Hopkins, and Brian Jones." AllMusic's Richie Unterberger hailed it as one of the Rolling Stones' "strongest, most eclectic LPs". In a retrospective review for Entertainment Weekly, David Browne called the album "a cheeky set of sardonic Swinging London vaudeville rock", while Billboard magazine's Christopher Walsh wrote that "it's brimming with overlooked gems, the band delivering a captivating blend of folky, Beatles-esque pop and tough bluesy rockers." Tom Moon wrote in The Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004) that the album was "lighter and thinner" than Aftermath and, "having belatedly discovered pop melody, Jagger and Richards were suddenly overdosing on the stuff." Music scholars Philippe Margotin and Jean-Michel Guesdon observed baroque pop and music hall on the album. Jim DeRogatis included Between the Buttons in his 2003 list of the essential psychedelic rock albums.
In 2003, Between the Buttons was ranked number 357 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Based on such rankings, the aggregate website Acclaimed Music lists it as the 715th most acclaimed album in history.
SHE SMILED SWEETLY
(Jagger/Richards)
why do my thoughts loom so large on me?
they seem to stay, for day after day
and won't disappear, I've tried every way
but she smiled sweetly
she smiled sweetly
she smiled sweetly
and says don't worry, oh, no no no
where does she hide it inside of her?
that keeps her peace most every day
and won't disappear, my hair's turning grey
but she smiled sweetly
she smiled sweetly
she smiled sweetly
and says don't worry
"there's nothing in why or when
there's no use trying, you're here
begging again, and ov'r again"
that's what she said so softly
I understood for once in my life
and feeling good most all of the time
'caus she smiled sweetly
she smiled sweetly
she smiled sweetly
and said don't worry, oh, no no no
oh, no no no
oh, no no no
The Temptations with their beautiful song "My Girl".
The performance was all dubbed, so I replaced the mono music of the video with a stereo version of the song... with a touch of ruudtes.
MY GIRL
(Smokey Robinson and Ronald White)
I got sunshine, on a cloudy day
when it's cold outside, I got the month of May
I guess, you'll say,
what can make me feel this way
my girl (my girl) my girl
talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl)
I go so much honey, the bees envy me
I've got a sweeter song, than the birds in the trees
well, I guess, you'll say,
what can make me feel this way
my girl (my girl) my girl
talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl)
oooh oooh
hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, (oooh)
I don't need no money, fortune or fame
I've got all the riches, baby, one man can claim
well, I guess, you'll say,
what can make me feel this way
my girl (my girl) my girl
talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl)
(talkin' 'bout my girl)
I got sunshine, on a cloudy day, my girl
I even got the month of May
(talking 'bout my girl) my girl, talkin' 'bout, talkin' 'bout

SHE'S A RAINBOW
(Jagger/Richards)
She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
Have you seen her dressed in blue
See the sky in front of you
And her face is like a sail
Speck of white so fair and pale
Have you seen the lady fairer
She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
Have you seen her all in gold
Like a queen in days of old
She shoots colors all around
Like a sunset going down
Have you seen the lady fairer
She comes in colors everywhere;
She combs her hair
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
She's like a rainbow
Coming colors in the air
Oh, everywhere
She comes in colors
