EOTT #2 Dr Devin Terhune - Hypnosis, suggestibility & 2cb induced synesthesia

Devin and I discuss his research on time perception which aims to understand the factors underlying transient fluctuations in timing, the extent to which timing is supported by different subsystems, and distortions in timing in altered states of consciousness and clinical populations. His research on suggestion seeks to characterize the neurocognitive profile of highly suggestible individuals and understand the mechanisms underlying suggestion in hypnosis and placebo. He also has broader interests in awareness, metacognition, and functional neurological and dissociative disorders.

Devin’s research uses a variety of techniques including MRI, EEG, non-invasive brain stimulation, eye-tracking, and a diverse array of statistical approaches.
