The disturbing case of Mr Brian Leach and Asda in Dewsbury
Mr Brian Leach has apparently been sacked from his job at Asda supermarket in Dewsbury for posting a Billy Connolly sketch on his personal Facebook page that his Muslim coworkers found offensive. Part of a disturbing descent of British people into becoming dhimmis in our own land. You can email the CEO of Asda at [email protected]
This is the email I sent Mr Burnley earlier today:
Dear Mr Burnley
I am writing, as a British middle aged woman, to express my deepest concern about the unfair sacking of Mr Brian Leach from your Dewsbury store for totally legitimately posting a comedy sketch by Billy Connolly, a long established Scottish comedian.
Many years ago I actually went to see Billy Connolly in person. He was very funny but also rather crude. Frankly I find his constant swearing unnecessary and somewhat offensive. In addition, nowadays as a deeply religious orthodox Jew myself I found the sketch in question that Mr Leach apparently put on his personal Facebook page putting down religion offensive as well.
However, it is utterly essential that freedom of expression and freedom of speech are paramount. If I find something offensive, I don't have to watch it. I certainly don't have to agree with it. After the whole Mary Whitehouse saga years ago which I remember, I believe blasphemy laws were finally abolished in Britain in 2008. And rightly so.
I might add that as a Jew frankly I find some of the antisemitic commandments contained within the Quran deeply offensive as well as completely untrue eg surah 2:88, 4:46 and 5:13. Indeed there are many offensive commandments concerning the treatment of non-Muslims contained within the Quran which ALL good and right-minded people should be concerned about, eg surah 8:39, 9:5, 9:29, 9:73 47:3-4 and approximately one hundred others. These verses come from the latter part of Mohammed's life and abrogate any earlier more peaceful verses which contradict them.
Accordingly, are you proposing to sack all the Muslim employees of Asda for following what is, unlike all other mainstream religions, in reality essentially a hateful, bigoted and supremacist political ideology? Frankly that would make far more sense than sacking a disabled grandfather simply for posting on his webpage a sketch by a long-established British comedian which he personally enjoys and frankly has every right to do. In addition, I understand that Mr Leach has been subjected to deeply disturbing threats against his person thanks to his identity being made public.
If you are unaware of what mainstream Islamic texts actually teach, then I would suggest that you research Islamic ideology yourself, in particular the whole concept of dhimmis, which is something, that by sacking Mr Leach in response to a complaint from a Muslim person, you have moved many millions of British people one step closer to becoming.
As a deeply concerned British person who believes in equal human rights for all people, I would ask you not only to reinstate Mr Leach, to apologize to him and to pay compensation for his unfair dismissal, but also to make clear that freedom of speech and expression are paramount. If someone does not appreciate Mr Leach's sense of humour, that is up to them and they can express whatever they choose to on their own Facebook pages as well.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response in due course.
Yours sincerely
