Released In memory of "Mike Brown".
Live improvisation performance, recorded on December 23, 2019 at Gallaghers Pub, Huntington Beach, California.
Story:
I knew Mike, Doug, Tim and Dr. Bob since 15 years earlier, from the "Open-Mic Thursday Jam Nights" at Perqs Bar in Huntington Beach, California. Mike and Doug were the ones that started the open-mic night for musicians, at the beginning of the 2000s. Even though I jammed with many different combinations of musicians over the years, I'm almost sure that night, Christmas eve of 2019, was the first time in all those years that we all jammed together...
And what an improv! These boys can play!
One of my favorites setups.
So sad to see Mike go two years later. We won't be able to have this Mix again (not in this life anyway). I'm glad we recorded that night. It was a cold, strange winter, just before the Covid Madness exploded the following spring...
Freddie.
Lyrics:
Release me of these chains,
Never to walk these streets again.
Release me, please release me...
I can run through your streets screaming...
Screaming that I can not scream no more!
Release me...
Climb on my back and free me.
Crying, crying... to be free.
All of my lungs at you, to set me free.
Set me free!
