New York's legislature approved a sweeping overhaul Friday of the State’s handgun licensing rules, seeking to preserve some limits on firearms after the Supreme Court ruled that people have a right to carry a handgun for personal protection and no not have to show the near-impossible "good cause", with the support of Gov. Kathy Hochul, who said she doesn't need "data" and will continue to exploit a loophole that forbids the carrying of guns in sensitive areas by basically designating the entire State of NY as a "Sensitive Area."
Also, unprecedented, is the DOJ openly defying the Supreme Court by issuing a statement that they disagree with their ruling. The DOJ is bound to enforce SCOUS rulings, not play activist rolls. This could lead to another ruling by the SCOUS for Constitutional Carry if NY and the DOJ continue to ignore their prior ruling that citizens have The Right to Keep and Bear Arms under the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution for self protection and self perseveration.
