#DroneForceJXN flew over the abandoned Jackson International Speedway this past weekend. J.I.S was the areas only race track to hold sanctioned NASCAR races from 1968 - 1986 and was once the fastest 1/2 mile oval in the world (Bobby Harrell set the world record lap of 16.78 seconds in 1970 and held onto the record for 7 straight years). Nascar legend Rusty Wallace won multiple races at the track along with Mississippi's very own Lake Speed. The track closed in 1986 due to poor track conditions and has been abandoned ever since.
