Under section 41 of the Electoral Commission Act, a candidate must not (a) be a corporation (b) be a representative of a foreign owned company, or (c) have an ABN. Additionally every polling booth must (a) have on display a copy of a signed writ, and have had copy of said writ in a minimum of 2 major newspapers and be able to inform a member of the public as to on what day and where that writ was published.
