I am absolutely not against dogs sniffing but let’s put it into context. If a dog is working or on a task that sniffing is not involved you can stop it. No different then if a dog is recalling to you and you call the dog back to you and the dog decides to slow down or even stop to sniff the ground. Well that’s not a proper recall. I’d yju dog is on a proper structured walk and the dog is always sniffing the ground which can lead the dog to pulling or even lunging. That’s not acceptable So all of those things can be stopped wirh the proper application of a punisher/correction.
