the fireballs - bottle of wine - stereo remix
Edit for headphones, May 26, 2021. It's a big shame that the singer messed up this song, for wow, what a great set of musicians working here!
Enjoy the real great guitar work! It may be difficult, but try to ignore the vocals on this one... the idiot sounds like he's drunk...
The Fireballs were formed in Raton, New Mexico, in 1957, and got their start as an instrumental group featuring the distinctive lead guitar of George Tomsco.
The song was written and recorded by Tom Paxton. The Fireballs' version reached nr.9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967. It also reached nr.3 in South Africa. The song appeared on their 1967 album, with the "surprising" title "Bottle of Wine". It was for six weeks in Holland's Tip Parade, but alas, it didn't chart there, and that with so awfully many many alcoholists in this country ! ! ! (you might expect they would have loved this drunk asshole singing ;-).
The Fireballs, sometimes billed as Jimmy Gilmer (yes, the asshole who sounds like a drunk) and the Fireballs, were an American rock and roll group, particularly popular at the end of the 1950s and in the early 1960s. The original line-up consisted of George Tomsco (lead guitar), Chuck Tharp (vocals), Stan Lark (bass), Eric Budd (drums) and Dan Trammell (rhythm guitar).
Personnel on "Bottle Of Wine" (the single, not the bottle): Jimmy Gilmer (vocals)(yèch), George Tomsco (lead guitar), Doug Roberts (drums) & Stan Lark (bass).
To cover up the singing I gave you some nice Jugendstil photos, didn't I ?
