US helicopter manufacturer Bell has unveiled a new promo video of the Bell 360 Invictus reconnaissance attack helicopter, which the company plans to offer to the US Army's Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) program. The FARA program provides for the development of an advanced reconnaissance attack helicopter for U.S. military aviation, which should complement the family of combat helicopters Boeing AH-64 Apache. Bell says the Bell 360 Invictus should have a cruising speed of "over 180 knots" at maximum takeoff weight (unnamed). Combat radius is stated to be 135 miles with a 90-minute barrage. Armament will include a 20mm three-gun turret and up to 1,400 pounds of payload in armament compartments (images show four Hellfiré missiles in armament compartments on retractable launchers and another eight missiles on external sling under the wing).
