State-owned Chinese company Hikvision supplies a third of the global market, producing over 36 million cameras a year. Italian TV last year reported that 140 Hikvision cameras installed at an airport started trying to connect to a server in China. It was claimed 11,000 unauthorised requests were made every hour. Hikvision claims this was down to outdated codes.
