Read about the Government bio research programs on Plum Island, Rhode Island in the book "Lab 257". I lived 11 miles north of Lyme, CT which was considered ground zero for the disease. UCONN has done a lot of research and most doctors in CT are well versed in the latest treatments protocols. My horse was chronic with it, all my dogs got it even though they were vaccinated....sound familiar???? My last case was from a tick bite on 12/26/2015 and the resulting anaplasmosis infection with a 104 temperature, destroyed my knees. I know of many people who didn't get treatment asap and ended up in IV therapy for months and will probably never be the same again physically or mentally.
It is an insidious disease that should not be taken lightly. After moving to another New England state, I was shocked to hear my sports med Dr say "anaplasmosis...what's that? I've never heard of it". Good grief!!!!!
