I’m burnt out and I needed something easy to do just to get my hands moving again. Sometimes we all need some easy low pressure exercises we can do when we don’t have the energy to do anything else. And doodling can always lead to more doodling that can sometimes lead to proper drawing. So it’s always a good idea to doodle! All you’ll need for this sketchbook spread is a pen and some sort of tool to add a splat of colour. Hope you find this idea handy for when you are just out of ideas.

I’m getting ready for a long trip abroad and I need to pare down the amount of art materials that I want to take with me. Making this decision is so hard! Join me while I try out some colour combos in my sketchbook in hopes to find a few colour palettes to put in my art travel kit. I am mostly testing gouache combos as those are the heaviest items I am taking.

Back in January when I was doing a studio tidy, I came across this old giant sketchbook that I’ve had for years. Today we’re going to crack it open and start a new series! I decided to begin this sketchbook with some cats, some kittens, cause who doesn’t love kitties? And I needed the practice. I’ll be drawing with my new favourite pencil - Prismacolor in Orange and I’ll be painting with gouache. Hope you have fun hanging out in my sketchbook with me. Hello Art Buds,
I finally gave Ghibli Art a go, and it was a lot of fun. I practiced some watercolour techniques and found out they are trickier than they seem. I use a few new art tools that I think are very handy and worth trying. I would love your recommendations for other types of animation art or studies that you would like to see. Hello Art Friends!
I've been using the Talens Art Creations sketchbooks for the better part of a year now and I thought I would share some thoughts. Would I recommend it? Is it better for a beginner or a more experienced artist? I‘ll let you know that and more. We‘ll flip through three sketchbooks and see what mediums works well on this sketchbook paper. And is it truly a mixed media sketchbook? I've tested pencils, pens, ink, watercolor, gouache, soft pastels, oil pastels, neocolours, posca, alcohol markers...

Just a quick little video for you today. I wanted to share some tips I’ve picked up on how to use Masking Fluid. It seems lots of people have frustrating experiences with this art tool, but my hopes is that these tips will help you succeed with your masking experiments! It is very helpful to use with watercolours, particularly when doing large background washes. How do you like to use masking fluid? There are so many possibilities!
