1972 and 1972 Lincoln Continental
My 1972 Lincoln Continental, my dream car that I was lucky to find.
Along side the 72 is the 73, which was a 500 dollar parts car that I just had to bring back to life!
The DACMan is not just about buses. CARS are the main focus of RAW CAR.
Today's episode is limited by Al DACMan Barry's househunt, as well as the bad weather! Too much salt to take the cars out. But...
It's Lorelei's birthday today! Happy Birthday, Lorelei. This episode is about you, with photos, and a few videos.
For more Lincoln info, from how to's all the way to history, check out --- TheLincolnForum.net --- I have been a member there since I've had Lorelei, and it has made me become the expert in these cars that I am now (early 70s Continentals)

We’re gonna be tearing it up with a 1973 Lincoln Continental! Swamped and busy with the swiss cheese like Ranchero, we visit a friend with a lift! You wont guess how bad or good things are!
But the best part? When you’re ready to go! This is a loud “exhausted” episode!
We are also very fortunate to get some backing, but a new start-up company. Thank you Directly25 LLC, the new owners of the DAC Dynasty IP!

Welcome everyone! Today we have DACMan’s own 1973 Lincoln Continental with the Town Car option package. Yes, this is the one where DACMan get’s stuffed in the TRUNK!
Even dirty, this car is still the BOSS, at over nineteen and a half feet (federally mandated bumpers of 1973).
Sure, some of the interior bits are missing, but you can still see the design, and how nice it is. (It’s a work in progress!).
Sound? Soundwise, Black Jack is a beast! Sure, it has cracked exhaust manifolds, but it still sounds brutal. Yeah, some noises and odd rattles here and there, but who can hear them? Not me, not when Im doing burnouts!
Is this a good car for a newbie driver? It is big, but I go over that, parallel parking, maneuvers and more, so watch and subscribe to find out!
It handles well for its size. If you watch tv shows from the 70s, you know how they handle.
Whats the coolest feature of the interior? Hint, I wont hit 70 mph.
Whats the coolest outside feature? You gotta check it out! (Subscribe too for more pauarrrr!)
Can the 1973 Continental turn around in an intersection?
Want to know all the features from back then? Its got more things that modern cars! And we’re in 2020! Mirrors, Lights, buttons, comfy. Did I mention comfy?
And that trunk….Massive? Nah, we need to invent a word that properly suits it. Its hookarific? (No more bad jokes!). But I know you want to see me inside the trunk of my car. See what I do for you? Now watch and subscribe! (pleeeeeasseee?)
460. The engine. Its big. It’s a big block, that’s cheap, easy to work on, and pumps out tons of power. Its cool, back then, and now.
So what score does it get? Should you get an old Linoln? Are they worth it?
Affordable and reliable, and abso-freaking-lutely badass!

This 1973 Lincoln Continental TownCar is the star of the RIP Roaring Garage movie. It was left to rust, buried in the mud in upstate NY. It was partially restored, then sat once again. Can a disabled mechanic get a disabled Continental up and running, polished and shiny and ready for the BIGGEST car show in the county? And in just three days? WATCH AND YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!!
I would like to share this with James August’s family, and find out what truly happened, so LIKE and SHARE this video far and wide, and spread the word! Thank you so much!

Will she start? This is my 1972 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL SEDAN, dark metallic brown, with brown vinyl top and tobacco interior. It’s a 1-OF-1 CAR, only one made just like her. Lorelei (the car) is also a very well documented car, which matters if you have a large collection of cars or just one classic, we do love going back in time, looking through booklets, manuals, receipts and window stickers.
I will show you all the documentation that a car can have, and then some. All these papers add significant value to a car (even more if it turns out somebody famous was the first owner or something).
I have maintained this car carefully over the years, so the revival may not be difficult, but still dramatic. Will she start on the first try after sitting for years?

In this episode I go over all the types of bulbs found in the rear of my 1972 Lincoln Continental sedan. These will be the same as with the 70, 71 and 73 model years, with only the shape of the lenses being different.
Inspecting lights can be tricky alone, so either get a helper or use mirrors. Check running lights, brake lights, license plate lights and side marker lights. Be careful with the old gaskets as they can be hardened, and you won’t find new ones.
If you guys want, I will do an episode about the vacuum headlight switch (DS-151) or the high beam dimmer switch (DS-70), as they both are rather peculiar.
More car geek stuff includes the weird types of screws you will find, and some cinematic shots of the 72! I am happy how this turned out.
Next episode though will be even cooler, I promise!

I get my NY State inspection done, and I’m followed. Helicopter was following me from my house, all the way to the inspection and stayed hovering the whole time.

I become a 70s TV show detective, and drive Lorelei, a 1972 1-of-1 dark metallic brown Lincoln Continental Sedan through the fall foliage of upstate NY. Police chase scenes never looked so good!
This was the era of earth tones, rock and roll, disco and big brown cars. Cheesy sport coat wearing detectives were on TV and life seemed a lot simpler. But if you own a car like this 72 Lincoln Continental, you can travel back in time, find a secluded road, and have fun.
One cool bit of trivia is that big brown cars were a staple of NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) from Judas Priest using a 1974 brown Cadillac Eldorado convertible in the 1980 music video Breaking the Law, to Saxon picking a brown 1973 Lincoln Continental nearly identical to my own! The song initially was meant to be about a big, heavy steam locomotive (which later would become Princess of the Night), but eventually was re-written into the big American car anthem, Wheels of Steel. The song features lyrics about a speeding 69 Chevy, but the video showcased a brown Continental, which later became the official Saxon band car!
Big, fast, heavy American cars do indeed fit along nice in the world of Heavy Metal
