In this video, we discuss the transhumanist movement, its origins, the founders, and the individuals who picked up the torch and kept going. From there, I had to find out more about nanotech, biotech, Neuralink, mind-mapping, and the simulation. But, I noticed in the news articles that there is a specific narrative built around this subject...the world is dangerous, and a digital society might be the answer for our perils. Although there are obvious benefits to the technology being invented in relation to their goal, there are equally as many obvious routes towards destruction.
I know this video was pretty dense content-wise, but now that we or I have at least a basic understanding of the simulation theory and transhumanism, I’ll be able to start researching what will essentially be part 3. I’ll be taking some time to research the strange “ cult” surrounding the transhumanist movement and the AI God that an ex google employee is attempting to bring into existence. When doing the research for this one, I came across a couple of articles discussing it, and there are definitely some odd details that lie just under the surface. Hopefully, that video will be out in the next week or so.
