If you purchased one of these cars brand new in the 80s, it would easily still be on the road today if proper and basic maintenance was performed. My personal 85 300SD has 340k and chugs along perfectly. These are some of the best "BUG-OUT" vehicles due to the fact that they have nothing controlled by a computer on board yet have all the luxuries youd want like ABS, AC, power windows and seats, huge sun roof, cruise control etc.
