the rolling stones - it's not easy - stereo remix III
Edit 3 for headphones. With Brian's guitar work clearer & louder. Recorded 3-8 December 1965 and 6-9 March 1966 in the RCA Studios in Hollywood, California. Released on "Aftermath" in April 1966 (June in the US), that is "Aftermath" the legendary album you cannot do without... it was eight weeks at no. 1 on the UK album charts.
Organ: Brian Jones. Electric guitars: Brian Jones (the opening guitar part and that same guitar sound throughout the entire song, says Bill Wyman) & Keith Richards (rhythm guitar). Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Drums: Charlie Watts . Fuzz bass: Bill Wyman. Background vocals: Mick Jagger & Keith Richards.
Main engineer: Dave Hassinger. Hurray for Dave Hassinger. Nobel prize worthy for engineering the Rolling Stones' best album ever. And for introducing the "exotic" instruments!!!
Bill Wyman mentioned that the main engineer for the album was essential, for he made the group feel comfortable during the sessions as he, according to Wyman, let them experiment with instrumentals and teaming up with session musicians like Jack Nitzsche to variegate their sound. Wyman also stated that he and Brian Jones would pick up instruments that were in the studio and experiment with various sounds for each song.
Brian Jones was very important in shaping the album's tone and arrangements, as he experimented with a vast array of ethnic instruments such as the marimba, sitar, Appalachian dulcimer and organ, which contrasted with the folk, pop, country, blues and rock compositions, thus resulting in a diverse mix of musical styles.
If you don't have the album "Aftermath", and particularly the vinyl album, then I doubt if you are a true Rolling Stones fan. Yes, you like their music, but "Aftermath" and "Flowers" are your big question marks. Well, do something about it, buy 'm and get used to 'm, listen to 'm with headphones (like the ones I advice in my channel's tab "About"), and gradually you'll find out they are their best... trust me on that... (and "Between The Buttons")(and all the previous albums)(and all the albums until 1969). (It all went downhill when they added a saxophone player to the band... worst decision ever.)(The man is not playing, he is farthing, sorry, that's the impression I get when I hear that sax.)(dot)
IT'S NOT EASY
(Jagger/Richards)
it's not easy... it's not easy living on your own
it's not easy... it's not easy living on your own
and it's hard (it's not easy)
and it's hard (it's not easy)
and it's a pretty hard baby (it's not easy)
it's not easy living on your own
all of the things that you used to do
if they're done now, well they're done by you
it seems a big failin' in a man
to take his girl for granted if he can
and it's a hard babe (it's not easy)
and it's a hard (it's not easy)
and it's a pretty hard babe (it's not easy)
it's not easy livin' on your own
there's no place where you can call home
got me running like a cat in a thunderstorm
