My father, Henry W. Turner, retired from the Air Force and did three tours of Vietnam. He was only required to do one. He said to me, "My men needed me." As a child, I spent many nights looking out of my bedroom window wondering where my Daddy was and if I would see him again.
I also spent many years (decades) arguing with my father about how all wars were bankers' wars. He would say that there have always been wars and there will always be wars.
Before he died, he looked me in my eyes and said, "We had no reason to be in Vietnam. We never should have been there."
The best way to honor Veterans Of War is to make sure future generations do not become victims of a predator class that has monetized sickness and death.
