There is a great deal of positive and productive things to chat about, however 5% of the "volunteers" are brilliant ans sane, the next 5% are good, the next 5% are passable - and the rest are really shit to even worse - in terms of navigating conversations, feminist ideologies, sanity, and all around crazy making dysfunction.
Opening conversations with etherial precepts, rapidly separates the people who "get it" from the crazies who don't.
These are great ways to start conversations.

A few will "get it" and laugh, most will flip out for NOT following "The Script".
The ones who "don't get it", are so locked into a) their dysfunction, b) their crazy, c) Their riditity, or d) their such limited IQ and lack of life experiences, that they will usually try to "flow chart" people, because they are incapable of engaging with people in a sane, positive and dynamic way.
And this guy at Life Line - is a duplicitious, power tripping, prick.
These are the sorts of people who fuck with their kids heads, the kids turn to drugs and suicide to cope, and then they decide to volunteer for Life Line, often as placements to get their hours up as pyschologists in training, and they say, "I want to volunteer to help other people, so the same things don't happen to them as what I experienced" - but these head cases, do to other people, what was done to them (their families / parents), and they have done it to their own children (drugs and suicides), and they do it to the people who call up Life Line.
These calls don't have to "be nice" or to be "approved of" in order to be successful.
Being very combative with them, over the mind fuck bullshit they pull, IS the basis of EMOTIONAL HEALTH.
In terms of sanity, emotional health and resilience - or strength of character, one can view "professional help" as being much like a game of cricket. (see link below). There are highly qualified people who are complete fucking idiots, and street conversationalists who are interstellar intellectuals on the issues on the human condition - AND vis-versa.
