What happens when Li-Ion Batteries are exposed to pressure, crushing, shock or heat? Let’s look at the recent video posted by Hydraulic Press Channel and discuss what is happening in several cases, of different types of Lithium Ion batteries, from single cells, to consumer electronics such as phone, iphones, to power tool battery packs.
As much as I do like their channel, I will call out certain statements regarding the battery technology used in these electronics as well as EV cars. This comes in the wake of the Luton Airport massive parking garage fire.
On top of this, I do want to discuss the concerns with oxidation of home electronics, off-gassing of chemicals and other forms of slow burn, and possible toxic exposure. This type of slow burn is a serious concern of landfills as well as many of these batteries do make their way to garbage dumps etc.
Let’s talk about this.
