I knew Hollywood pulled this kind of swerve before (err, after) when he beat up his nephew Horace. He wanted to show The Warrior, if he could beat up someone he loves like that... imagine what he was gonna do to YOU. Except it took him a couple years to pop back up in Hollywood's corner as The Disciple.
