Infectious clones and COVID-19

J. Jay Couey is a recovering academic biologist whose pre-pandemic specialty was neurobiology.

While working as a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s department of Neurobiology, JC discussed the biology of RNA viruses and the possibility of a laboratory leak with three consecutive videos in Feb 2020 on YouTube.

After being quoted in the Washington Times, it became obvious that speaking out wasn’t going to be tolerated. He received an email from his employer’s media office stating that his expertise was not coronavirus. JC continued to speak out and became especially vocal when it became obvious that the media was going to sell transfection as a new methodology for immunizing humans. He thinks it is likely his vocal opposition to transfections that led to his being sanctioned.

In October of 2020, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine asked JC not to come in anymore for everyone’s safety. They did not renew his contract, and cited racist and mysogynistic reports as part of an unsatisfactory performance report in 2020. This ended a twenty year academic career, and his experimental data from 2017-2020 was published without his name being acknowledged.

JC has since worked as a content creator on the platform Twitch and also works as an independent scientific consultant. He wrote a review in 2021 that was months ahead of anyone else on many issues still being discussed today:
