Well, this was fun to film 😛.
This is my deadlift variation for my squatting day, after doing my heavy single, and Paused squats. I am doing this from about a three inch defecit (each rubber tile is about 2.5 cm/1 inch). I wanted to put myself in a position where I have to get myself down lower, and really get my quads working to drive the weight up, while also focusing on getting and maintaining a really solid abdominal brace, and contracting my lats throughout the entirety of the pull, to keep the bar close to my body. These are feeling pretty good! Defecit deadlifts have always been my personal favorite deadlift assistance variation, so it is nice to be doing these again; and with heavier weight! I am thinking after this first month's cycle is down, I will try removing one tile/inch off the defecit, and then do it with 2-inches, while bumping up the weight. We'll see how it goes, in terms of progress/carryover. For now, enjoy me being a goofy moron, heaving heavy weights from a defecit, while rocking out to some good ol' InfoMetal 🤘🏻.
