Though it may not be as clear in the King James English, the text of Psalm 22 in Hebrew clearly depicts the suffering of Christ. Although the psalm was written by David, the details cannot possibly refer to his own suffering: it is a prophetic picture of Christ written a thousand years before it became history. There is no way anyone could fake these things; they would have to somehow control the reactions of the mocking enemies. Seeing how God brought this to pass, we can have confidence that He will likewise bring to pass what He has prophesied for a future time. VF-2160
