This little device, which has a USB-C port on one side and a plug the other sits between your power source and connected device and shows the power available and drawn by the powered device. this is the first USB-C device of this type I have yet seen.
The Power Meter arrived simply packaged and with no instructions or information sheet provided. This seems to be a trend with Satechi products and not one which I welcome. The unit is small, just 11.4x6.2x2cm and although at first, I thought it was made of aluminium, in fact, the body is made of plastic.
When connected the device quickly comes to live and after showing the Satechi logo the display then shows the voltage on the left with the amps on the right, the Current Over Time is displayed in smaller letters below.
The unit seems reliable and the display is bright and easy to read. Priced at £29 this is not a cheap item but it works well and no doubt as USB-C becomes the norm the price will fall.
The Good
Works well
Easy to use
Good build quality
The Bad
Expensive
No documentation
Plastic body
