2022 Yamaha YZF-R7 vs Kawasaki Ninja 400 | Beginner Sportsbikes

How do Yamaha's YZF-R7 and the Kawasaki Ninja 400 stack up as entry level or beginner sportsbikes? Offering two very different options at vastly different prices, both bikes are sportsbike, with the newly introduced R7 offering a more purist approach but still sitting within the 650 class, while the more value driven Ninja 400 is more accessible but also more basic.

Extra performance, better brakes, better suspension and full sportsbike ergonomics are the name of the game with the R7. The Ninja 400 is a more one size fits all approach, more basic but good suspension, single front disc brake, more relaxed ergonomics, lower seat height.
