The current population of 327 million is expected to drop to 100 million by 2025 .The figures for Germany look anything but rosy. By 2025, its population is expected to drop to 28 million instead of 81 million, a drop of over 65%! A drop of another 3 million from last year's forecasts. But it should not only hit Germany hard. There is almost no European country in which its population is not expected to shrink drastically! So let's take a quick look at decline forecasts for some other countries below (numbers may be slightly rounded up or down):
France: from 67 million to 39 million – down 41.8%
Spain: from 49 million to 28 million – down 42.8%
Italy: from 62 million to 44 million – down 29%
Great Britain: from 66 million to 15 million – down 77.3%
Ireland: from 5m to 1.3m – down 74%
Luxembourg: from 594k to 199k – down 66.5%
Austria: from 8.8 million to 6.2 million - minus 29.5%
Switzerland: from 8.2 million to 5.3 million – minus 35.3%
Sweden: from 10 million to 7.2 million – down 28%
Norway: from 5.3 million to 3.8 million – down 28.3%
Denmark: from 5.6 million to 3.8 million – minus 32.1%
Iceland: from 340k to 196k – down 42.3%
Poland: from 38 million to 33 million – down 13.1%
Czech Republic: from 11 million to 9.9 million – minus 10%
Slovakia: from 5.4 million to 5.1 million – minus 5.5%
Slovenia: from 2 million to 1.7 million – minus 15%
Serbia: from 7.1 million to 6 million – minus 15.5%
Croatia: from 4.3 million to 3.8 million – minus 11.6%
Macedonia: from 2.1 million to 1.9 million – minus 9.5%
Bulgaria: from 7.1 million to 6.1 million – minus 14.1%
Romania: from 22 million to 21 million – minus 4.5%
Hungary: from 9.9 million 9.4 million – minus 5%
Russia is expected to remain unchanged while Ukraine is expected to post a decline of around 27.3%.
Israel: from 8.3 million to 4 million – down 51.8%
Forecasts for the US show a whopping 69.4% drop! The current population of 327 million is expected to drop to 100 million by 2025. The numbers have improved here. The forecasts from 2017 even showed a reduction to 54 million inhabitants and corresponded to a decrease of more than 83%. Canada's population is expected to decrease by 10 million by 2025, from 36 million to 26 million (down 27.7%).
No less interesting are the forecasts for some Asian countries:
South Korea: from 51 million to 37 million – down 27.4% (no forecast for North Korea)
Japan: from 126 million to 103 million – down 18.2%
Thailand: from 68 million to 65 million – down 4.4%
Malaysia: from 31 million to 33 million – up 6.4%
Pakistan: from 205 million to 219 million – up 6.8%
Indonesia: from 261 million to 267 million – up 2.3%
Philippines: from 104 million to 117 million – up 12.5%
Bangladesh: from 158 million to 178 million – up 12.6%
Iran's, China's and India's population numbers are also expected to remain unchanged, according to the current status.
Australia, on the other hand, is also expected to shrink significantly, namely from 23 million to 15 million inhabitants, which corresponds to a decline of 34.8%.
