Americanhardmind and Synchronicity introduce their Top Hardcore Bands, as in the essence of each musical sub-genre, continuing with Part 4: Hard.
Hard (heavy/rock/alternative) "the middle"
Hard embodies heavy, rock and alternative as linkages to the softer hardcore sounds. In this sub, there is popular appeal while still retaining elements of Metal and Punk. Heavy represents those who play hard and fast Instrument, but also appeal to pop media through Mood-Image and Lyric, not quite reaching the base of Metal’s dark undertones or Punk’s political aggression, thus omitting the most extreme. Rock expresses similarly to Heavy, but takes the basest elements from before itself to create a traditional slow and fast tempo ensemble to stay harmonious in the harder sound. Beyond this, an alternative lineage to experimentation appears, but not quite the level of Experimental like the progressive and proto-post- genres to come. Yet, alternative allows openness to Metal and Punk, while still looking forward to Experimental and appealing to the pop mindset.
