Amaruca is literally translated, ‘Land of the Plumèd Serpent.’ According to Manly P. Hall and other sources such as the Theosophical Society, America was named after the chief god of the Mayans, Quetzalcoatl, called Amaru in Peru.

History teachers will tell you it was named after Amerigo Vespucci, why not call it Columbus then since he also didn't discover Amaruca?
