Dune Part 1 was a treat. Dune Part 2 got me in the theatre - and it was absolutely worth it. Gorgeous mise-en-scene. Intriguing writing. So impressed.

This is not generic sci-fi. This is Dune.

And somehow I completely forgot to mention the fight…

Dune Part 1 was a treat. Dune Part 2 got me in the theatre - and it was absolutely worth it. Gorgeous mise-en-scene. Intriguing writing. So impressed.

This is not generic sci-fi. This is Dune.

And somehow I completely forgot to mention the fight choreography in this video... it was good. Like everything else I couldn't help but marvel at the combat scenes. I wanted more. Those actors did not just walk on set and wing it. I will be watching that combat in slow-mo.

Modern cinematic masterpieces, and I can't wait for more. I'm hoping modern audiences are inspired to raise their standards, because there is a lot of crap being made (it's always heartbreaking when an incredible book series gets a bad updated script that ruins the story).

These movies are so well-made, in pretty much every way, and I might actually end up doing full film reviews of them in the future.

Go watch them on as big of a screen as you can find.
