While many of us are told to simply 'move on' from the years of COVID-era government authoritarianism, the effects are impacting our lives to this day. A scary and dangerous precedent has been set for what our government can get away with.
In the face of tyranny, former nurse Sarah Choujounian was brave enough to speak out. But she subsequently faced disciplinary charges from the College of Nurses of Ontario for advocating against the prevailing narrative of COVID-19 — from denouncing mask mandates to vaccine passports and every harmful lockdown in between.
Although the health authorities have since backed off, Sarah is still facing a lengthy legal battle against the system that has brought financial hardship to her and her family.

"My case is at the point where all of the 12 allegations are kind of known to be true now, but they keep saying that I had no way of knowing in 2020 and therefore that was misinformation and I harmed the public," said Sarah.
How does that make any sense?
Sarah was following the ethics she learned in nursing school: even when the system fails, it's up to her to ensure that the health and well-being of the community are the top priority.
"It's now known that I didn't mislead people, yet I'm still being punished because I went against them, and that's not what their narrative is," she said.
Sarah is facing a crucial battle that will set a precedent for freedom of expression in the Canadian medical field. Her next hearing date is slated for May 31.
