How do you Make a Portable Charging Station?

in terms of price/performance, should I get one of those fancy Jackery/Bluetti type power stations, or would it be better to DIY using heavier-duty components and higher capacity battery? which would probably be not much more expensive? (won't look as "fancy" though, no fancy color LCD etc..)

The aim is to be able to power for 8-12 hours actual house appliances (by no mean the big hungry consumers like an AC unit or an electric induction stove, but rather the normal relatively low consuming items, up to 1800W continuous load), I won't be investing $1-1.3K for a fancy box that could mostly just charge a laptop and run two LED lights.
