In this video I show how Rugby League in the UK is less of a Northern Sport than it once was. I have done this by using one of the experiments that I have place into my book The Phenomenal Geographical Spread of Rugby League in the British Isles.

This experiment has been preformed by taking all the information, about the locations, of every single club in Europe from the Rugby League European Federations database, which can be found here:

This information is the name of the club; the country that the club resides in; and the latitude and longitude of the club were placed in an Excel spreadsheet. After this part of the experiment was performed a pin was placed in the locations of the club on Google Maps, where their latitude and longitude states where they are located. Then each club wass researched in order to obtain in what year they were established in. Once the established dates were found these were also placed into the Excel spreadsheet. Then each pin on the map was assigned a colour depending on which period, their established date falls in. After this part was over, boarders on the map of the British and Irish Isles were added to highlight the Rugby League heartlands, which are situated in the historical counties of Lancashire, Yorkshire, and Cumberland. Then each set of coloured pins was added onto the maps in chronological order and then screenshots of each of these stages were taken. Hence starting with the foundation clubs all the way up to 2003 to 2016.
