The Alliance Chieftain, a versatile medium-sized ship in Elite Dangerous, can be a daring choice for tackling the colossal Thargoid Titans. Take a look at my Alliance Chieftain Thargoid Titan Slayer AX Build - While not the most heavily armored, its maneuverability and firepower can be key in this fight.
Here's the gist of the assault:
Gear Up:
Shields: High-boost shields with fast recharge are crucial for surviving Thargoid barrages.
Weapons: Pack a mix of:
Anti-Xeno Weapons: Guardian Shard Cannons or AX Multicannons for sustained hull damage.
Thermal Vent Beam: To manage your ship's heat buildup during intense firing.
AX Missiles: For significant bursts of damage against the Titan's exposed core.
Modules: Hull Reinforcement Packages and Shield Boosters for extra resilience. Heat Sinks for additional heat management.
The Fight:
Target Acquisition: Focus fire on the Titan's upper surface. Aim for the glowing thermal vents when they open, venting excess heat.
Unleash AX weaponry: Pound the vents with Shard Cannons or Multicannons while managing heat with the Vent Beam.
Hit and Run: As the core retracts and the Titan unleashes its devastating "Taurus" magnetic attack, boost away and find a safe zone (ideally, under the Titan).
Rinse and Repeat: Once the attack subsides, return to the upper surface and resume hammering the core until destroyed.
The Chieftain's Advantage:
Maneuverability: The Chieftain's agility allows for dodging Thargoid swipes and quickly positioning for better firing angles.
Balanced Firepower: It packs enough punch to damage the Titan while having the hardpoints for essential utility modules.
