n memory of Dame Vera Lynn who passed away yesterday, 18th June, other iconic figures such as Sir Winston Churchill and all those ordinary people who bravely and unselfishly gave up their lives during World War Two so that we could enjoy freedom and human rights today.
The truth is that NO generation gets to keep its human rights and freedoms without being prepared to stand up and be counted, and even to fight for them if necessary. Whatever the fears and dangers today of confronting those violent racist thugs within Black Lives Matter, Antifa and other anti-democratic organizations, they are surely as nothing compared with the huge risks of permanent disfigurement or death that so many people bravely took on in World War Two, so that British people and indeed all people in the west today could enjoy the freedom to enjoy life to the full. Do we not owe it to their brave and far greater sacrifices in the past to stand up strongly and collectively to all bullies today, whoever they are, who also seek to destroy our way of life, our human rights and freedoms, and our long history in this amazing country of ours of Great Britain?
