Cooking a poor mans stew fit for a king
My ingredients(Estimates)
Carbs
2 cups of brown rice
Protein
Lamb liver 600g
Lamb kidney 300g
Beef sausages x3
Kidney beans, 1 can
Vegetables
Onions x2
Carrot x2
Seasoning
Jalapeno pepper, 1 tablespoon
Garlic, 2 teaspoons
Salt, to taste
Soy sauce, Multiple table spoons
Miso paste, 1 tablespoon
Fat/oil
Butter, 60g
Basic recipe
0. Presoak rice/carb and boil 2 litres of water.
1. Heat prepared vegetables on low-medium in butter and spices if you want to use any. Add water when the oil cooks down.
2. Add prepared protein. Heat on low-medium until the outside is cooked. Add a little bit more water just to keep everything from burning.
3. Add rice and your seasonings, except miso and soy. Add enough water or stock to nearly cover it or enough for the rice to cook.
4. Bring to a boil then reduce to low heat. Put your lid on to partially cover the pot. Cook for 30-40 minutes.
5. Turn off heat, add miso and soysauce or any spice which is heat sensitive. Cover the pot with its lid and take of the heat for another 30 minutes to rest and thicken.
