A lightning left hook and a gunpowder right hand. His opponents risked death in the ring. Tommy "the Duke" Morrison was a distant relative of actor John Wayne, hence "the Duke." His personal life was riddled with controversy that remains mysterious to this day, now many years after his death. His womanizing and reckless lifestyle was believed to have taken its toll on his professional career and health after he was diagnosed with HIV+ and was convinced to go public, which may have been an obligation professionally since boxing can be an intimate business. Later in his life he tested negative, calling into question the accuracy of his initial diagnosis. If I wasn't careful I might speculate his wife had something to do with it given she wanted him to get married, settle down and have children. If she loves him, and he keeps cheating on her...that could drive a good woman crazy. Pure speculation though, I should avoid that.
