My father, Henry W. Turner, retired from the Air Force and did three tours of Vietnam. He was only required to do one. He said to me, "His men needed him." As a child, I spent many nights looking out of my bedroom window wondering where my Daddy was and if I would see him again.
I also spent many years (decades) arguing with my father about how all wars were bankers' wars. He would say that there have always been wars and there will always be wars.

Before he died, he looked me in my eyes and said, "We had no reason to be in Vietnam. We never should have been there."
