Area 51 Whistleblower Edgar Fouche Part 4: Flying Triangle, TR3B, SR-71, Skunk Works, Ben Rich.
Part 4 of 4.
Edgar Albert Fouché was born in Americus, Georgia on February 22, 1948 to Eloise Russell Fouche’ Little and Ridge R. Fouche’. He went home peacefully to be with the Lord on May 11, 2017. He was 69 years old.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Fouche’, his daughters Valerie Fouche-Arabie and Kimberly Fouche-Powell, his son-in-laws Michael Powell and David Arabie, his grandchildren Gabriel Powell and Katherine Powell, his step-children Chad, Jane, and Sam, their spouses and children, and many dear friends who were like family to him. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Charles, and his beloved step-father, Glen Little. By all accounts he lived an incredibly full life, serving in the USAF for 20 years and as a Project Manager in the DOD until his retirement in 2001.
Ed graduated from Longview high school in East Texas in 1966, where he was involved in drama and theater, was an Honor student, a member of the National Honor Society, the president of the debate team, a member of the Student Council, and on the football team as Captain of the Defensive Team.
He attended several universities, including the University of New Mexico, the Air Force College, and the University of Maryland. He received degrees in Electronics and Avionics Engineering from the Air Force and a BS in Business. In the USAF, he received numerous promotions, accolades, awards, and medals for his service and bravery.
On 14th February 1996, he married his beloved soul-mate, Rebecca. He also had a very special love for all his children and grandchildren.
He was witty, intelligent, and inquisitive at all times, delving into a broad spectrum of subjects. His quest for learning made him a fierce and bold communicator, and he relished adopting an opposing viewpoint merely for enjoyment of a good debate. In addition to his academic prowess, he also held strong values and principles. He loved people and stood up for injustice; he was a true advocate at heart. He was kind and generous in the best of times and the worst of times, Without a doubt, he touched many lives.
By all accounts Ed was a man of many talents and abilities, a true renaissance man. He was an artist, an author, a poet, and a craftsman. Ed was always creative and experimented in many mediums. His favorite work was called ‘Stages of Faith’ which hangs in the River of Life church office. His gourmet cooking was famous among his friends and family. He could make everything from Pâté foie gras to his famous French Gourmet Cheesecakes, which he loved to make for his friends and fellow church members.
Ed moved from San Antonio, Texas to Mason County in 2005. During his life in Mason, he continued with his love of history and politics, writing many editorials for papers and forums.
In his heart, Ed was forever young. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him well.
He was a wonderful husband and father, a Christian brother, and always “Poppy” to his grandchildren. He was a true friend, and mentor to so many people, who will remember him with great affection.
Edgar Fouche' was honored with a visitation at Mason Funeral Home on May 15, 2017, followed by a graveside service at Coffey Cemetery
