Gravity is object density vs surrounding medium density. There is no reason to make something so simple be that overcomplicated. Unless your spherical earth requires it. Luckily flat earth doesn't because flat earth doesn't require overcomplicated theories to explain things like the broken water physics taking place on the sphere.
