Went back to playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land and this game still is an absolute joy. My idea was to complete all the extra missions in each stage. Those vary, but usually you have to get all the hidden Waddle Dees and perhaps destroying some objects in the level. When I reached the boss battle against Gorimondo one of the tasks was to pass between his legs and I accidentally did all the others which were defeating him with a sword ability, doing so without taking damage and within a time limit. The Morpho sword at full health shoots a projectile at a pretty decent length, so it made a quick work out of him. Plus the dodge is a bit of a directional teleport allowing you to avoid his spin attack easily.
The Tropic Woods boss battle had more challenging missions including defeating it without using a copy ability - it's manageable, but you have to be on your toes. The no-damage run can be tricky since you have to stay away from the fruit bombs and be mindful of where its roots will manifest. Thankfully the Dragon Fire ability made quick work of him.
What proved to a be a pain in the ass was the fight against Clawroline. One of the missions was to shoot her while she's up on the columns, which is easy enough, but the no-damage run stumped me. When she's shooting you with her claws it's tricky to completely avoid. The best thing to do is get a slowed down dodge on one of the knifes, but that too is risky. The Morpho sword's teleport dodge is pretty good, but the way the camera is during that section it makes it hard to navigate. I wish there was a dedicated dodge button rather than having to press block and direction, which can lead to stopping you in your tracks in to get damaged by the bosses attack - it's not much mind you, but enough to fail the mission. The knives are the most difficult part to remain untouched. Even if you manage to avoid them all keep an eye on her plunge attack. You can just dodge it reliably giving you an extra counter-hit or simply float in the air until the waves from it dissolves.
